WHO knew the duke of the fortress of meropide was a big softy for cuddles ? you certainly didn't. so imagine the look of surprise that overcame your face as your boyfriend of 3 years suddenly asked for cuddles.
" please..! " the duke begged, clasping his hands together in a pleading manner. wriothesley threw on the best puppy eye face he could muster up, and how could you refuse it ? sighing, you gave in to his pleads. his eyes immediately lit up as you agreed, and he didn't hesitate to trap you in his polar bear like arms.
so if you were wondering why you were here, in your apartment bedroom being hugged to death by wriothesley, now you know.
you didn't even want to speak up about your lack of ability to breathe, not wanting to break wriothesley out of his happy trance.
the outside city remained active, as people prepared to go to work. your tv was on, displaying your favorite movie that wriothesley had told you to watch with him, knowing it was your favorite. sunlight leaked through the windows, casting a warm glow on the two of you.
you sighed contently, wriothesley's arms wrapping ever so slightly tighter, bringing you even closer to his broad chest.
as you were about to speak, your phone rang, the screen displaying an incoming call from one of your close friends, who you recognized as navia. as you were about to pick it up and answer, your boyfriend grabbed it out of your grasp and declined the call for you, not wanting your attention to divert.
" focus on me love. " wriothesley mumbled into the crook of your neck. you blushed slightly at the nickname, but huffed in mock-frustration. " you didn't have to just decline the call...now she's going to think im ignoring her on purpose ! "
the duke simply shrugged, holding onto you tighter. you huffed, puffing out your cheeks in a failed attempt to look tougher, though, wriothesley just thought it was adorable. seeing as your attempt to look intimidating failed, you just leaned back and let him hug you quietly. the two of you laid in silence, the only sound being the chirps of the bids outside and the sound of the ac running.
after a while of pure silence, you spoke up. " are you hungry? we should eat breakfast soon. " wriothesley thought for a moment, before nodding in agreement.
" yeah. we should go eat. " you hummed, and stood up from your position in the dukes grasp. wriothesley frowned at the absence of your warmth, but didn't pull you back knowing you still had work to do.

you stood in the kitchen, humming a melody as you cooked and prepared your morning meal. it consisted of fried teyvat eggs, and a glass of "special water" that neuvillette had gotten you. he insisted it was "great water, with delicous taste" though you had your doubts.
as you were about to call down your beloved lover, you turned around and locked eyes with wriothesley standing at the doorway already.
" i was just about to call yo- " you paused, taking in wriothesley's attire. it seemed he had just came out of the shower, because he wore nothing but some shorts. a towel hung around his neck, strands of his hair dripping with water. he leaned against the doorway, arms crossed with a smirk on his face.
" something caught your eye? " he asked teasingly, knowing exactly where you were staring at. you shook your head, diverting your eyes from the interesting part of wriothesley you were staring at.
"a-anyway, come sit down and eat. breakfast is fresh and hot. " you changed the topic, a small amount of blush covering your face as you took the dishes you just made and set them down on the table. wriothesley laughed at your sudden timidness. he sat down in front of you, and took in the delicious aroma of your cooking.
"smells amazing love. " he commented, waiting for you to take your seat before digging into his fried eggs. you also began to eat, except, more neater and less messier.
the two of you sat in silence, occasionally commenting on the latest news that occurred in fontaine.
after eating, you put away your empty dishes in the dishwasher, before taking a seat in the living room. wriothesley followed suit, plopping down next to you with his arm around your waist.
you turned on the tv, watching some of your favorite shows with your boyfriend. wriothesley rested your head on your shoulder, making sure you were comfortable before also setting his head on yours.
moments like these were blissful. and you cherished every second of it.
