Jake : How are you doing this to me?!

I whined down the phone to my friend, sounding like some obnoxiously ignorant infant.

??? : Why can't you go with Lexy and Junior?

Jake : What? to third wheel the whole time? I'd rather slice the skin around my feet off. C'mon, why can't you just tell your dad you're sleeping over my house?

??? : I'm grounded, there's nothing I can do. Now go get ready, bye! Love ya!

Jake : Love ya.

I hung up and threw my phone across the darkened room. The only luminance came from a dim bulb hidden within a small lampshade. My curtains were drawn, my doors were closed and my light was off.

Jake : Fuck.

What am I going to do now? Fuck it. I wanna get either drunk as fuck or high as shit tonight and I'm not gonna let this tiny obstacle stop me. I've got enough vodka to put down an elephant, I've got my vape and more importantly; I've got my hot as fuck shirt.

I ran over to try and find my phone in the mess of my duvet and when I did, I unlocked it and scrolled through my contacts until I found... Lexy.

Lexy : Hey Jake, what's up?

Jake : Look Lex, I've got no one to go to this party with-.

Lexy : Come with me and Junior!

Jake : Are you sure?

Lexy : Bitch, you know I love you.

Jake : Thanks Lex.

Lexy : Any time, be over in 10.

Jake : This is why I love you.

She laughed, her soft-voice breaking through the phone.

Lexy : Oh I know.

She hung up and I caught myself staring into the mirror, focussing on every single blemish scattered across my face.

Jake : fuck... my life.

I was wearing a white shirt with golden patterns, with the four top buttons unbuttoned; naturally, with some undersized jean-shorts I've got to squeeze my ass into and a belt just to add the extra little bit on top.

I ran over to my vape to see if it had finished charging, which it had, so I placed the pod back in and puffed away to my life's content, scrolling through the bland pages of tiktok.

I got a Snap from Lexy. It was a message which read;

Lexy : Oh by the way, Juniors new friend is coming too

Jake : Fun, got a name?

Lexy : You might know him, Devon Evans.

Jake : you mean the fuck boy? Devon Evans?

Lexy : I don't know about no "fuck boy"

Jake : I think he's in a couple of my classes. All I've heard about him is he cheated on some girl with 5 other hoes

Lexy : Crazy. He better not be giving Junior any ideas.

Jake : Pfft, I'd kill him, we both know that.

Lexy : Yeah I did see the video of when Kenzie cheated on Melanie

Jake : I wish you were there for that, boy can't throw a punch to save his life
