Claudia pushed the shopping cart down the fluorescent-lit aisle of the home goods store, her eyes scanning the colorful array of kitchen gadgets and throw pillows. Beside her, Gio tilted her head to one side, biting back a grin as she picked up a bright pink whisk."this strip game is begging for an invite to our house," Gio said, tapping it playfully. The teasing glint in her eyes made Claudia roll hers, suppressing a smile.
"You know we need important things like—" Claudia began, only to be interrupted.
"Important is boring, We should get something fun" Gio said, her tone a mock protest as she tossed the game into the cart. Claudia chuckled and nudged her shoulder against Gio's, the contact electric and familiar.
They continued down the aisle, their gentle banter flowing effortlessly. Claudia picked up a cute set of dish towels adorned with sassy quotes, holding them up for Gio’s approval.
"And how do you think these would look in our kitchen?" Claudia asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
"They’d look great, but you know what I’d love to see more?" Gio leaned closer, her breath whispering against Claudia's ear. "You in something much less… domestic."
Heat washed over Claudia’s cheeks at the implication, but she pressed on.
"Many people wanna see me in just... Much less." Claudia smirkedGio smirked, her voice dropping to a sultry whisper. "What if we made this more interesting? How about a bet?"
Claudia arched an eyebrow, intrigued. "What kind of bet?"
"Whoever can make the other person jealous first wins." Gio's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Loser has to do whatever the winner says for a week."
Claudia considered it for a moment before nodding, a sly smile creeping onto her face. "You’re on."
With that, the challenge began.
As they meandered through the store, Gio spotted a store clerk who had just finished stacking some items on a shelf. She flashed her signature charming smile and approached the woman.
"Hey, ma," Gio said, her voice low, tilting her head in a feigned serious manner. "Can you tell me where the baking trays are?"
Claudia's heart sank a little at the term of endearment, but she quickly masked it with a playful scoff. “Oh, so we’re going with ‘ma’ now, are we?” she called out, crossing her arms while trying to sound aloof.
Gio glanced back at Claudia, suppressing laughter. "Just getting a little friendly help" she shouted back, winking at the clerk. The store worker's cheeks turned slightly pink, and Claudia felt a flame of irritation rising in her chest.
They finally made their way to the outdoor strip mall, with Claudia still acting as though she wasn’t peeved about Gio’s little stunt. It was a classic Gio move—flirtatious and bold—and it never failed to leave Claudia feeling a mix of annoyance and undeniable attraction.
“Let’s stop here,” Claudia said, pointing toward a lingerie store. She took a deep breath, her mind racing with a sudden idea. “I need a new bra,” she announced, smirking.
Gio raised an eyebrow, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. “Oh, do you now?”
Claudia stepped inside confidently and approached a tall, dark-haired masc who stood behind the counter. “Excuse me, can you help me measure my breast size?” she asked, her heart racing with both excitement and mischief.
Gio stood frozen at the entrance, watching with narrowed eyes as the worker smiled and motioned for Claudia to follow her to a private fitting room. The sight sparked something fierce within Gio—an instinctive desire to reclaim her territory.
