Gio's POV:As I stood in front of our new home, a wave of disbelief washed over me. The sun filtered through the trees, casting playful shadows on the spacious porch that welcomed us.
It was a house full of promise, a beautiful gift from Claudia's mom. Claudia stood beside me, holding Savanni, whose small hand fit perfectly in her mother's. I could see the tears glistening in Claudia's eyes, a mix of joy and overwhelm, and it tugged at my heart.
"This is it," I whispered, gazing at the house. I squeezed Claudia's hand, and she responded with a soft, grateful smile, her eyes darting back to the front door that stood ajar, as if inviting us into a new adventure.
"Can you believe they did this so quickly?" Claudia murmured, still in shock. She looked around, taking in the manicured lawn and the way the sunlight danced off the elegant windows. "Nope," I chuckled lightly, trying to ease the gravity of the moment.
"But I'm not surprised. Your mom is Beyoncé, after all. She can do anything." Claudia laughed, the sound like music to my ears, cutting through the lingering tension.
"I just wish I could have been involved in the decision-making process." We stepped inside, and the smell of fresh paint and polished wood enveloped us like a warm embrace.
The living room was spacious, with high ceilings and enough room for Savanni to run wild. "Look, baby!" I knelt down to Savanni's level, my eyes sparkling.
"We can create a play corner over there!" Savanni's eyes lit up, and she jumped with excitement.
"Can we have a slide?" she asked, her little face beaming with hope. "Of course" I replied, grinning widely. "And maybe a ball pit, too?"
Claudia shook her head, a smile still on her lips. "You're going to spoil her, Gio." "Only a little," I said, sticking my tongue out playfully.
As we explored further, I noticed Claudia had gone quiet again. Her gaze was fixed on a spot in the corner of the room, where her old furniture had been arranged in a cozy layout.
The vintage couch, adorned with colorful pillows, looked like it belonged to a different era, yet it felt right in this new space.
Memories flooded back to her, and I could see the mix of nostalgia and comfort on her face. "Claudia..." I said softly, squeezing her hand tighter. "It's okay to feel a little overwhelmed.
This is a big change." She nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I just can't believe we're really here. It feels like... like a dream." "Then let's make it a beautiful one," I replied, pulling her into a gentle embrace.
Savanni nestled between us, her small arms wrapping around our waists. We continued to explore the house, making our way to the kitchen. The countertops gleamed, and the cabinets were filled with cute little jars of spices.
Claudia opened one, her eyes lighting up. "They even stocked it! This is unreal!" "No need to worry about cooking for a while," I teased, nudging her playfully. "Your mom thought of everything."
"Speaking of which," Claudia said, her voice playful yet serious, "I wonder if she bought any of your terrible cooking." I feigned offense, putting a hand on my chest.
"Excuse me? My cooking is a masterpiece!" Claudia chuckled, shaking her head as we moved into the dining room, where a beautiful wooden table awaited us.
I could picture family dinners, laughter echoing off the walls. "What if we had a huge dinner party? You know, to celebrate?" I suggested, my eyes sparkling with excitement.
Claudia's brow furrowed playfully. "With who? Your family or mine?" "Both!" I laughed. "Imagine the chaos. We'll need a bigger table for all the drama" As we made our way upstairs, I noticed Savanni looking around in awe.
