SHIVI'S POV
I asked "Did I did anything when I - I was drunk?" he stopped drinking the coffee and paused for a moment. He wasn't looking at me for me a moment, seems like he was thinking something. This means did I really did something!? "No, you didn't" I heard him say and he took another sip. "Did I made you feel embarrass?" I can't keep it and asked another question. "You never did" he said softly. Thank god, I am safe
"Take rest, we need to go back today" he told taking the empty mug from my hand. Actually it's time to go back, it was short but yet pretty. We had moments. We need to go back, my college will start and he has a lot of work more than me.
After 30 minutes I got ready. Thanks to Mohsin for giving me a warm coffee drink, I am not feeling weird anymore. He told me that he will not leave the guy who mixed the alcohol in my juice. Was he really serious that moment?
I started packing up things, Mohsin was out on his business call so I decided to pack his things too.
The late afternoon sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. I methodically folded clothes, placing each item neatly into the suitcase on the bed.
As I reached for his wallet on the bedside table, a small photograph slipped out and fluttered to the floor. I bent down to pick it up, curiosity flickering in my mind. The smile on my face vanished as I looked at the picture.
It was Mohsin, smiling broadly, with his arm around a woman I didn’t recognize for a minute. They looked happy, too happy. My heart pounded in my chest, and my mind raced with questions. Is it Vedika!? What's this pic doing in his freaking wallet?
I stared at the picture, my hands trembling. The room seemed to close in on me, and I felt a rush of emotions—confusion, hurt, anger—all mixing into a painful knot in my stomach. All our moments we made faded away, I thought things were working between us but I was wrong.
Quickly, I slipped the photo back into the wallet and placed it on the bed as I heard the opening of the door. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself.
He entered the room looking at his phone. I continued packing instead, "You don't have to do these things" I heard him saying. I ignored his words, I don't want to face him. "Take rest, I will ask the maids to do that" he said again. Damn! My blood boiled and my mouth spoke itself "Why? Am I not a good wife? Can't I do these things. Are other girls better than me?" I said everything in a go. I looked Mohsin's face, he frowned and was surprised. I realized what I said, I couldn't face him anymore so I turned around back."What's wrong?" he said in a soft tone. His tone for me everytime makes my heart flutter. "Nothing," I said tersely, my voice clipped and sharp. He frowned, confusion clouding his features. "It doesn't seem like nothing. Did something happen?" he asked and continued "I did something wrong?" I ignored his question instead I said "It's time for flight" I left the room and went to bathroom.
MOHSIN'S POV
I stepped into the room only to find my wife packing my suitcase, her movements brisk and efficient. I asked her not to pack my things. She is my wife, not a servent. But the words she told next wasn't a good one. She mentioned, "are other girls better than her" like seriously? What a shit?! How did she even thing of that?
Giving me weird answers she went to the washroom. There's seriously something wrong with her, I wonder what made her upset. My eyes found my wallet on the bed, I was searching for that from morning actually. I opened it only to find a pic. A PIC? IN MY WALLET? I never keep photos in my wallet. I recognised the people in the pic, wtf that's my and Vedika's pic! Who the fuck kept it here? So she's upset? Damn no way!! I need to clear up.
10 minutes passed and she was still in the washroom. I couldn't help myself and so I knocked at the door. "Hey??" I tried to here inside keeping my ears stick to the door. "Shivangi I know you are upset, please we need to talk" I tried to convince her. Only then I felt the door opening. There she was, looking at me like she would eat me up.
She tried to make her way to the room but before that in a swift motion, I reached out and pulled her towards me. She stumbled slightly, and before she could regain her footing, I pinned her gently but firmly against the wall. Her eyes widened in shock, lips parting in a silent gasp. She looked up at me, the anger in her gaze now mingled with confusion and a flicker of innocence.
Our faces were just inches apart, the warmth of my breath brushing her skin. I could feel the steady rhythm of her heartbeat through her chest, pressed close to mine. Her eyes searched mine, filled with a desperate intensity. The closeness was overwhelming, a mixture of vulnerability and raw emotion, as we stood on the precipice of understanding and reconciliation. "I need to clear things I said" my tone was not soft yet not harsh. She looked down at her feet, I took her hand and made her sit on the bed. I myself sat next to her holding and brushing her palm with my thumb.
"I have nothing to do with Vedika, the picture you saw is of my college times when my father made me meet her" I started, she kept looking at her hands. "We only met because her father too is an expensive businessman. She means nothing to me as much you do" I continued and immediately she looked at me. "I was never so close to any girl as much now I am with you, in a past few months I realised how much you mean to me, no one else has ever been so close to me as much you are" I told everything what's on my mind and heart. I realised she was in tears now.
Before she can drop her tears, I pulled her for a hug. I made her calm down. I could here her sobbing. "I am sorry" I whispered and she hugged me back catching my shirt's clothing like as baby. We hugged each other for long.
