The morning after my night of….fun, I had school.  Oh how I loved school. It was a Friday, luckily for me.
Only 1 day until the weekend. I just had to get through the day. I started off with my usual routine of getting up, getting dressed and brushing my teeth.
Then I ran downstairs and opened the freezer.
I quickly threw some pancakes in the microwave to warm up while I fed Ashi. She purred and rubbed against my leg in thanks. Maybe I could bring her to my next session with Mikael.

Wait….why was I thinking about Mikael? And happily at that…! I must be crazy.

He’s a psycho.

Less then his brother but still! I heard the microwave screaming for my attention.

Me and my microwave had a strained relationship after it broke and I was stuck cooking real food for two weeks. How dare it. Like- what is happens when a shut in can’t cook their meals in two minutes! They starve! And I’m not nice when I’m hungry.

I smeared some honey on my pancakes and stacked them like a sandwich.
This was my favorite power breakfast.

If I was feeling like I deserved something special, I would take a few spoonfuls of Nutella to it as well.

My mouth just needed a day off sometimes. Nutella always solves my problem. I haven’t mentioned this, but thick, chocolate goodness?

I would kill a man for some of that. But whoever likes Hershey’s milk chocolate can suck my hairy balls.

It’s awful.

You’re wrong.

You have horrible taste.

I actually felt ready for today. It was weird. I grabbed my backpack and headed to the bus stop, Bella wasn’t there.

And neither was Christian…was today my lucky day? It had to be. As I boarded the bus I had a seat to myself. All by myself. My own, gross, sweaty seat.

But guess what? It was mine.

I practically skipped into the building. The joy of being alone and the idea of seeing my best friend El was tantalizing. I I threw myself into the group table and sat down.

“Hey…!” I pulled a granola bar out of my bag.

“do you ever stop eating, Ezra?” El raised an eyebrow with me. I just laughed and shook my head while shoving half the bar down my throat.

“Something’s wrong with you.” I nodded in agreement.

Today seemed happy. And warm. And much better then yesterday. My first period went by okay, but by the time I was at math I was bored.

It didn’t last too long though. Between Caius’s stares and the unusual kicking in my mini backpack, I was quite occupied.

I had forgotten to check it for Ashi. I spaced on the fact that she has a habit of going to sleep in here after she was done eating.

I messed up.

We were told to pair up and I rushed over to Caius’s desk.
“What’s up?” I ask nervously.
“Stop that.”

“what?”

“stop pretending like you’re not hiding something. You’ve seemed anxious all class. What is it?” he demanded. I just shrunk in my chair.

“Y’know how I have a cat?” I asked meekly.

“you didn’t….”  I nodded solemnly.

“she snuck into my bag before I left.”

“what do you plan to do?” I heard Caius ask me. I had been so worried I forgot about last night with him. But ashi was priority.

“I just….don’t let teachers see her?”

“good plan, I suppose. I will drive you home so that you two arrive safely.” What? I was not riding with him. But would Ashi be safe on the bus? She was this morning….but the one way ticket home could be good.

“This isn’t up for debate, pet, I’m driving you. That’s final.”

“What is up with you?” I huffed.

“we can talk in my car. Don’t cause a scene Ezra, are we almost finished with the project?” I debated his response.

“fine. We’ll talk in the car. But I expect actual answers! And…yes…we are fairly ahead on the project. I don’t understand how this was supposed to be a months worth of work to be completely honest.” Caius seemed calmer today.
