CHOE YURI FELT a sigh escape her lips as she wiped the trickles of sweat that ran down her forhead. She had just finished dance practice, so to say the girl was exhausted would be an understatement.
Even though dancing wore her out so much, Choe Yuri truly loved it. It was truly her passion.
She had been a dancer since she was five years old, when she first fell in love with the sport. She loved it so much, because in her mind, it was a way to escape. To escape the hard reality she called life. She felt different when she was dancing. The second she begun, it was like she couldn't stop. It was almost like something in her body had possessed her.
She gathered her things and made her way to the exit of her dance studio. Her boyfriend, Han Jihoon was currently on his way to pick her up, and if the Choe girl was being honest with herself, she would have rather walked home.
To say the least, Choe Yuri and her boyfriend were complicated. He was two years older than the girl, being a sophomore in college while she was starting her senior year of high school.
They met when Yuri was only in her first year of high school. He was in his junior year and he had helped Yuri when she dropped her books in the hallway, and the Choe girl immediately fell for him the second she saw him, and the two started dating soon after that.
And for a while, everything was perfect. The couple would go on dates all the time, and he was truly so good to her. The Choe girl was completely head over heels for the boy.
However, that moment of perfectness didn't last forever.
After about a year of being an item, the two would constantly get into arguments, one of the recent ones being because one of Yuri's best friends, Pham Hanni, had caught Jihoon with another girl at a party.
Now, originally, Yuri would never let something like that slide, but Jihoon would always make up some excuse that the Choe girl would be gullible enough to believe, making her forgive him instantly.
Currently, the two were in a fight, as per usual.
Over what? The usual. Jihoon had gotten too close with some college girl, and Yuri had confronted him about it, which obviously didn't end well. Their relationship was stupid like that, Yuri always wondered why she was even still with him, the girl was quite popular at school, lots of boys would do anything to date her.
So why did it have to be him? She didn't know.
Yuri was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't even notice Jihoon's black jeep pull up to her dance studio. She only noticed when Jihoon called out, "Hurry up!" which caused her to snap out of her trance.
She let out a deep sigh and walked towards the car, hulking herself in the passenger seat.
As always, she got the most delicious whiff of Jihoon's cologne mixed with his aftershave. She had always loved the way he smelled. His scent was always clean, like he never skipped a shower.
He was blasting his usual loud music, which Yuri had always hated. She reached for the radio, turning it down so her ears weren't practically exploding.
Although, it seemed the Han boy had different plans, because the second Yuri turned it down, he turned it right back up.
Yuri felt her jaw tighten just watching the boy, and by the look on his face, she could tell he wasn't too happy either. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, turning her head to look out the window and staring into the sky which had almost fallen into night time
"Don't roll your eyes at me." Jihoon spoke, not even baring to look at Yuri. "Why are you even mad at me right now?" He asked. The Choe girl turned her head and looked at him with a glare.
"Because, I have every right to be mad at you." Yuri told him, which only caused him to groan and clock his head back.
"Are you still upset about me and that girl?" He spoke, raising an eyebrow. "Babe, seriously?"
Yuri crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Don't call me that."
Jihoon just sighed in a response, keeping his eyes on the road as they approached Yuri's house.
Once the two had pulled over, the car was now parked in front of Yuri's house, and the two just sat in silence for a bit, neither of them saying anything. The only thing that could be heard were the loud sighs coming from the both of them.
Yuri fidgeted with her ballet skirt, deciding and contemplating on what she should do.
She decided the best option. She opened the door and attempted to just walk out of the car without saying anything to the man, but her plan immediately went to waste when before she could even shut the door, Jihoon spoke.
"Baby, please." He looked at her with saddened eyes, his right hand still gripped onto the steering wheel. "I love you."
Yuri stood there, wanting nothing more than to engulf the boy into a big hug and forgive him, but the problem was, it was hard to believe him when he said he loved her.
Because, did he love her?
If he truly loved her, he wouldn't be gaslighting and guilt tripping her all the time.
He wouldn't constantly be talking to other girls, let alone be cheating on her.
Yuri's lips parted in response. He didn't love her, and she knew that. She hated hearing that coming from him, because she knew he didn't mean it.
"Whatever." Yuri said, before slamming the door.
As she walked up to her house, the only sounds that could be heard were Jihoon cursing under his breath, slamming the steering wheel with his hands, and then quickly driving off.
