"For the life of me, I couldn't guess the time," Nana muttered to herself as she walked down a path to the unknown.
She was fortunate they weren't the thick kind, or she would've been gasping for air by now. And Tesoro was undeniably beautiful, and that made up for any shortcomings.
It's reasonable, at least for her.
One thing about her is that she won't let this moment slip away, kahit pa nagp-process pa ang utak niya sa mga nangyayari, ayaw niyang sayangin ang precious time na meron siya. She had never experience going out in a long time.
It's all the same buildings, infrastructure, busy roads, and bustling people. It was such a monochromatic life. Maybe not everyone would agree with her, but that's how she felt based on her experience.
In contrast, Tesoro was a breath of fresh air. Nana suddenly wondered if this was what the rest of the world looked like. She should feel alien in such a place, but instead, she felt giddy. For once, her heart was happy.
Who wouldn't be when all you could see while wandering around were trees, different kinds of houses, and beautiful people?
Nana braced herself, breathing in every bit of fresh air as if she might lose it any second.
While she looked around, she began to imagine what the stream would look like.
But who would've thought she would actually get to experience these kinds of things from now on? It might be under these circumstances, but at least she was free and living the life she wanted, without anyone telling her what to do or limiting her.
She began whistling, even though her fingers hurt from gripping the plastic bag, when suddenly, someone called out to her from behind.
"Gusto mo bang sumabay?" It's not like she knew them anyway.
