Mabilis na gumalaw ang kamay ni Nana sa pinirmahang papel, pag-angat niya ng tingin ay kita niya ang lapad ng ngiti ng landlady habang nakatingin sa kanya.
Pinuntahan siya ng ginang nitong umaga para i-discuss sa kanya ang pagtira niya sa boarding house, naging smooth naman ang usapan nila at walang naging problema. Or even if Nana didn't like something, she still wouldn't complain anyway.
"Kudos kay Kasper at maganda ang kinalabasan ng bago mong hairstyle. Talagang bagay, mas lalo kang gumanda," sabi nito sa kanya.
Kanina pa nito kino-compliment ang bago niyang bangs simula palang nang makita siya kanina. Hindi na niya mabilang sa daliri kung ilang beses siyang nagpasalamat at nagandahan ito, usually sa mga ganitong edad killjoy talaga. So, Nana meant it in a genuine way.
"Talagang talented ang batang 'yun, palagi niya lang tinatanggi. Napaka-misteryoso."
Nana released a faint laugh as she handed the paper back to her—it was like a form of agreement where they had written their terms. As soon as the middle-aged woman accepted it, Nana quickly glanced around, wondering why she hadn't seen Kasper since she woke up.
It was still Sunday.
"Nasabi ba ni Kasper sayo kung saan siya pupunta ngayong araw?" tanong ng ginang sa kanya matapos nitong makababa sa hagdan. Nakakunot ang noo ni Nana nang tiningnan ito ulit, agad namang nasundan ng mahinang pag-iling.
"I never saw him this morning," she replied. "Alam niyo po kung nasaan siya?"
"Naabutan ko siyang paalis kanina. Ang paalam niya pupunta siya sa kabilang sitio, pinapapunta siya ni Kapitan sa bahay nila kasi birthday ng dalaga niyang anak. Nag-offer na rin si Kasper na tumulong sa preparation. Baka mamayang gabi pa 'yun makakauwi."
Although Nana had a lot of questions in her mind after hearing it, she decided to push them aside for the time being. She convinced herself that as long as Kasper was okay, that was all that mattered.
Gumaan na rin ang pakiramdam niya, though she was physically exhausted dahil hindi siya nakatulog nang maayos.
Nang pumatak ang hatinggabi kagabi ay may urges na naman siyang lumabas para i-check si Kasper sa baba, kaso nag-hesitate rin siyang istorbohin at baka tulog na. She ended up staying awake almost the entire night.
"May gagawin ka ba ngayong araw?"
Umiling siya ulit.
"Ayos lang ba sayong ipakilala kita kay Mrs. Galvez?"
"Mrs. Galvez po?" Nana swore she'd heard the last name Galvez before, but she couldn't quite pinpoint who it belonged to. Was it Icarus'? Sebastian's?
"Kilala si Mrs. Galvez dahil sa pottery studio niya, kung gusto mo pwede kitang samahan. Nag-umagahan kana?"
Right. May na-mention nga pala si Kasper na pottery studio, in fact binilhan siya ni Kasper nang iilang goods mula sa studio na 'yun nang hindi siya kasama. Kung hindi pa nabanggit sa kanya na Galvez ang apelyido nito ay hindi niya maaalalang Galvez ang apelyido ni Sebastian.
