TODAY WAS THE DAY OF ETHANS SISTERS WEDDING. the main atla cast was invited, as the show was close to ella's heart. ella being who is ethans sister. denise sat in her shared hotel room with kiawentiio and lizzy as they just finished getting ready.
"i'm paired with ian" kiawentiio said, looking at the card given to them each. "i'm with dallas?..so that means, denise..you're with ethan." lizzy said with a hint of confusion in her voice.
"i thought ethan would pair me with dallas?.." denise sighed shaking her head in disappointment. "you still don't get it, do you?" kiawentiio asked her making denise turn to look at her.
"what do I don't get?" denise asked, tilting her head as she waited for an answer from kia. "denise, ethan likes you. for like months now! probably even years." lizzy revealed.
denise scoffed then chuckled in disbelief, thinking it was a joke. "you're joking..right?.." she asked, but kiawentiio remained silent as lizzy shook her head.
denises eyes dropped to the floor, feeling a mix of disbelief, confusion and..charmed?
"I never thought...he'd feel that way.." denise said, almost like a whisper as she processed everything while also connecting the dots in her mind.
then a knock on the door came. kiawentiio went to get it, and when she saw who it was, she signaled lizzy to go out with her.
"who's ther-...oh, hey." she smiled upon seeing her suitor, dallas. "hey, you look great." dallas said, taking a seat next to her. "thanks." denise said sighing as she was still shocked from the things that were revealed to her.
"we're not paired." dallas mentioned as they avoided eye contact. "yeah, i'm paired with ethan." denise said, in a whisper as it was only the two of them.
"that's great." dallas said, trying to hide his jealousy in his voice but failed as he looked away and rolled his eyes. "i'd prefer you though.." denise mumbled, hoping he would hear it somehow.
he did hear it, "i'd prefer you as my partner too." dallas mumbled back. "well anyways, the weddings about to start...we should go."
