Olivia and Grace were working overtime to find Spencer.
Meanwhile Spencer's brother was healing nicely from his gun shot womb. Police officers were stationed outside his hospital room as he were an accomplice to the kidnapping of Spencer.
He has told the police officers as much information as he could about Cory and the plan to take over Spencer's life.
Cory never wanted kids and the fact that he and Grace had twins was not in the plan.
Grace wanted to kill Cory herself. How could Cory be alive, how could he keep her other child from her, how could he hate his boys so much to the point that he sold one of them, came up with a masterplan (or so he thought), in which he would train one son to take the place of another and steal all of Spencer's money when he made it to the NFL.
Cory introduced Spencer to football as soon as he began to walk. He knew Spencer was a natural, so he worked with Spencer everyday to the point that Spencer's childhood consisted of getting him ready for the NFL. However, Cory faked his death when Spencer was in high school leaving Spencer with the urge to stop playing football, until he met Billy Baker which was intentionally planned out by Cory.
Cory placed a statement in his will encouraging Billy to be a mentor to Spencer and continue to work with him to ensure Spencer received a D1 scholarship. In order to do that, Billy had to get creative and have Spencer play for his team at Beverly.
Billy had always felt bad for Cory because his football career ended in his senior year in high school when Cory was injured, which killed his hopes for ever becoming a D1 athlete and ending his dream of playing for the NFL.
Cory was better than his best friend Billy, receiving offers from several top rated D1 Universities. Billy had always felt guilty about Cory's career ending in high school.
(As we know from the show, the rest of Spencer's story is history).
Cory began keeping up with Spencer's football career when he transferred to Beverly. Spencer had always out shined his teammates and Cory knew it was only a matter of time before he made it to the NFL.
Cory began his master plan when Spencer was a freshman at USC. He was the number 1 receiver for USC in his freshman year.
Spencer married the love of his life, Olivia Baker, as soon as he got drafted.
Everything was going according to plan for Cory with the exception of Spencer and Olivia's marriage. He expected his son to at least get a few years of NFL experience before getting married. This set Cory's plan a couple of years back.
Realizing that his son was his meal ticket, he made sure Spencer's twin knew everything about Spencer including studying his wife, before the master plan could be carried out.
Cory underestimated his daughter-in-law because she wasn't the typical NFL wife that stayed home and managed her family. No, Olivia James was quite the opposite, and soon he would find out.
Checking the cameras that captured Spencer's movements at the bar when he was taken and also getting footage of the cameras that was located outside when Spencer was taken had given Olivia and police officers additional information about his kidnapping.
Checking the airports, rental car agencies, trains, buses, and all possible sources that would help them figure out if Spencer was taken from the city, helped them realize that he was still in the area.
They were able to locate the van which Spencer was taken and carefully searched it for clues, including fingerprints that confirmed Spencer was in the van along with three other men that was hired by Cory.
Working to find identity the three thugs, the officers were able to identify each suspect based on their fingerprints. Each had a record, so getting the additional information they needed was not difficult, including their last known addresses, relatives, and acquaintances.
They updated Olivia and Grace. Olivia was heated and wanted answers now. Grace had to talk her out of getting her firearm and taking each of them out. No one except for Grace knew that when your physically messed with Spencer James, Olivia James turned into a sniper ready to take anyone out, but at the same time, she realized she was acting on emotions and her love for her husband instead of using her brain and letting the cops do their job. The guys would be useless dead and she would be in prison. She was a wife and mother, not being there for her family scared her the most.
The officers were able to obtain an arrest warrant in record time based on who Spencer was. They had all the information needed to arrest the three suspects.
This was a high profiled case and they didn't want to mess anything up and especially have to face the wrath of Olivia James and Grace Carter.
The officers updated Olivia and Grace of their actions, but did not let them know they retrieved the address. They wanted a solid case and they were more afraid of what Olivia James would do if she had their names and addresses.
The officers camped outside each suspect last known address and as soon as the door to one of the kidnappers opened, the police officers had the house surrounded, quickly arresting the first person. It wasn't hard to find the location of the three kidnappers as each of them had a record.
By the end of the day, each suspect was in custody.
As the questioning began, the officers played each suspect against each other, stating that they had been identified as the leader of the group and were facing more prison time than the others.
The plan started coming together until, they reached a dead end.
They were shown a picture of Cory James and neither of them knew who he was. Cory hired a middle man to deal with the kidnappers.
With this new information, the officers worked overtime to find out who this person was.
They worked this case 24/7 leaving no stone unturned.
Meanwhile, the players, coaching staff and the media were getting suspicious because they had not seen Spencer in a few weeks.
Rumors started about the mystery behind why Spencer was not seen in a few weeks and the police department was pressured to get this case solved as soon as possible. They placed additional officers on the case and even hired a private detective. The only person within the Giants Organization that was informed was the owner of the team who had to sign an NDA. They could not risk telling anyone else. Plus the owner had the power of Spencer's career.
A few days had passed and they were able to get the name of the middle man.
When Olivia and Grace learned the name of Cory's confidant, both lady were speechless.
