As a scientist you really never stop working. And being the person I was, I was a workaholic, even after ordering my food at the diner by my place. And I was the only one there at eleven o'clock.
"You forgot the half in your function that you wrote out in your notes. That's why your simulation isn't working." I looked up at the waitress, who gave me my food.
"You're right. Part-time job while studying at the U?"
"How did you guess?"
"Not everyone can analyze a program at a simple glance. And you let your hair down to cover your nametag so you can ignore guys that want to flirt with you, not for a lack of trying."
"Name's Maggie. Maggie Benson." She pulled a part of her hair back.
"Can you solve these three problems?" I quickly wrote them out in my notebook, handing the pen to her.
She wrote it down within three minutes and I quirked an eyebrow, impressed at her answers.
"$80k per annum, part-time job, fully paid off for including your outstanding college debt, insurance included, working with me at Wayne Enterprises. You in?" I asked.
That's how I ended up with my lab technician Maggie Benson, undergrad at Gotham U, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
