Bruce was stuck in traffic, having taken his sports car out to make appearances as 'Brucie Wayne.' He glanced around, growing impatient, when he noticed a scene unfolding nearby. A group of school girls, some handicapped, were led by a teacher and seemed unable to get across a gate blocking their path.

At that moment, he saw Maya, who had stopped her bicycle ride to help. She talked to the teacher briefly before taking the crutches from the girls. With deft movements, she placed the crutches against the gate, which had bars wide enough to put a foot through. She then helped the girls put their feet on the gate, guiding them to swing across as if it were a fun ride. The girls cheered, delighted by the impromptu adventure.

Once every little girl was across, they swarmed Maya, hugging her tightly. The youngest one kissed her cheek, and Maya chuckled, returning the gesture with a kiss on the girl's forehead. Bruce watched the scene, awestruck by her kindness and resourcefulness.

He sat in his car, dazed, as the cars behind him started honking. Reluctantly, he passed the group, but his eyes lingered on Maya as she started cycling away. That was more than just a good deed—it was a glimpse of her heart.

In that moment, Bruce realized his affections for Maya ran deeper than friendship.
