Weeks after the competition, the Internet was abuzz with a new rumor spreading like wildfire: a video clip of Luz and Amity arguing fiercely on stage had been uploaded to social media. However, instead of coming off as bitter rivals, people couldn't help but notice the intense chemistry between them - it looked like they were practically flirting on stage.Though, both Amity and Luz were unaware of this, due to their lack of social media. Luz looked through her unread messages as she walked her way to the café, Willow asked her to meet her in.
"Hey Willow." Luz greeted her friend, and plumped down onto the leather couch on the other side. Willow mumbled a small 'hi Luz' but nothing more. Luz noticed the odd energy a pulled up and eyebrow.
"What's up Park?" She questioned, crossing her arms, resting her back against the wall of the café."This."
Willow spoke, her face unreadable, but her voice was stern. Luz gulped, thinking she had done something really bad. Willow pulled up her phone, showing off a video of her and Amity on the stage from some weeks ago - maybe 3 weeks or so it had been since their competition.
Luz's eyes widen at that, looking at the recording with the caption underneath: Write fanfiction guys, the tension they have is so intense.
"...WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" Luz shouted, getting attention on her and Willow.
God damn it Luz.
"What is this Luz?" Willow asked, she looked at Luz concerned. "Is there anything between you two? You know the consequences of this!" Willow hissed.
"What? No, Willow. I will assure you it's nothing between me and Amity. Yes, I told her their performance was impressive. She said the same thing about us, well. More me I guess? But, anyways. Then I mocked her, and then we kept talking about fighting again." Luz stopped, chuckling nervously at the last part.
"Luckily I got away from that... with mocking her even more, winning the argument, and then I left. And you know I love making that woman mad!"
Willow nodded. Shutting her phone off, pulling up an eyebrow.
"What are we going to do with the rumours?"
"Are all the bands going to that party?" Luz questioned, her mind coming up with a plan.
"...Mhm. How so?" Willow furrowed her eyebrows.
"Okay, hear me out. We go to the party, and we get Skara to join us. She has the looks, honestly I wouldn't mind dating a woman like her, but not my type, and she's my closest friend. Me and Skara act like we are dating, so boom, I can just say the rumours are fake because I have a 'girlfriend'"
"It could work. You sure Skara wouldn't mind—"
Before Willow could ask anymore questions about the plan, Luz's phone made quick texting noises from her fingers sliding over the keyboard, and damn Luz was fast at typing. Her phone pinging right away.
"She's in."
~
"Wow, look at my pretty best friend" Luz exclaimed, giving Skara a hug.
"We haven't met in so long, so happy we can hang out" Skara grinned, fixing her hair a little.
"Love your make up, it looks so cool." Skara smiled at her best friend's compliment, she and Luz had been friends since high school, and she was lucky to have Luz. Luz was there when she needed it. So of course she would be there for Luz, even if it meant awkwardly pretending to be her girlfriend.
