Welcome to the start of the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery transcription project. Our aim is to transcribe all of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery into text format to make it easy for people to read and understand the story without playing through the game (which even I, as someone who loves the game, can admit is a bit of a slog). This first 'chapter' is just information about what we're doing here and to explain some of the choices we've made.

We're looking for other writers to help transcribe so that the project can continue whilst some of us take breaks. Also, we're looking for beta readers to help us spot mistakes.
We have an official canon manifesto which we will adhere to whilst we transcribe, which is available for viewing on our discord, however, the gist of it is that we'll be calling Jacob's sibling 'Emma Grant'. Emma, because that is how she is referred to in the game files, and Grant because it is a common surname in Scotland whilst also being disconnected from the HP universe (ie: there is no one with the surname 'Grant' in the HP universe).
In keeping with this, the player character will be female, which will also mean that Rowan will be female and Corey will be male. Additionally, the player character will be sorted into Slytherin house. This is because the player being in Slytherin causes the fewest contradictions. Most of the contradictions appear when the player character starts playing Quidditch, which is why the stories for Quidditch will be separated at the end of each work.
All side quests, adventures, and achievements will be included as well.
