Chapter 46 - Greninja's Resurgence!

Narrator: Last time, Ash's gym battle against Jasmine started at a rapid pace. Houndoom came onto the field, taking on Skarmory but was qui ly replaced by Pikachu, who managed to take the flying type down, using its powerful Iron Tail and electric combo's!

Next was Magnezone to which Ash decided to counter with his Metang. While Magnezone had the early momentum, things shifted quickly when out of pure desperation, Metang evolved into Metagross and eventually managed to beat it but it came with a heavy cost as Metagross too fainted.

Aggron was next on Jasmine's side and proved to be her most formidable Pokémon yet! Taking on Pikachu, aswell as Houndoom, beating them both before going down, leaving both Ash and Jasmine with one pokemon left...

A brilliant smile flashed on Ash's lips. He displayed confidence and courage as he and Greninja stared down the towering iron snake infront of them, known as Steelix.

Steelix looked strong, maybe on another level compared to her other pokemon. Large scars were painting its body, showing that the pokemon was battle hardened and a fighter in its own right.

From observing, Ash could estimate some of its power and predicted that, without Mega Evolution, it would defeat Brock's Steelix in a one on one.

That was mostly due to the fact that Jasmine had kept up her constant training while Brock didn't and focused mainly on his studies for a long period of time.

Steelix grunted, it's voice deep but powerful. It stared Greninja down, as the ninja frog, looking like a mere insect compared to the massive beast. Both pokemon were sizing each other up as they waited for their trainers command.

The final battle in this gym battle was up on them. A lot was at stake. Losing meant no pearl for Ash while Jasmine battled with her honor and pride in tact. She was after all one of the ten chosen gym leaders that served as the challenges for trainers wanting to compete in the World League Series.

"This is it." Ash grinned, speaking across the battlefield for Jasmine to hear. "Win or lose, we have given our all and will continue to do so until it's over!"
