A bright light invades my vision. The light is so overwhelming that my eyes fight to adjust, and my eyelids clench against the brightness. When the light has settled, I realize I am lying on the hard forest floor, a breeze cooling the back of my neck. The sunlight casts a golden glow over everything. Birds sing in the distance, and my chest rises and falls as if I had just sprinted for my life. I am aware of the warmth of sweat trickling down my nose, forming tiny droplets reminiscent of rain. This perspiration continues its journey, carving a trail down my face before falling onto my hands, firmly rooted on the ground.

"I see you have awakened, human." I recognize this voice, and the anger that comes with it makes me shiver. When I turned, Sukuna was standing not even five feet from me. "Where are we," the words come out cracked and raw; he flinches. Sukuna walks over to the forest's edge and rests his arm on the bark, not daring to make eye contact. "You do not remember; it makes sense." his lips press into a tight line.

Confusion engulfs me, shrouding everything in a dense fog. I am uncertain about what is happening or why my lungs ache. Fear, like a relentless predator, grips me tightly, making it hard to breathe. A chilling dread seeps into the depths of my being at a paralyzing, seemingly never-ending pace. My vision is blurry, engulfed in an unfocused haze. Something terrible had happened or was happening. Everything feels out of control. I inhale shakily, and the world tilts around me as the effects of being lost, confused, and disoriented take hold with nowhere to turn.

Sukuna enters my peripheral vision as his large form leans forward, looming over me. His hands are behind him as he watches my trembling form. "Get up and run; they close behind you," he instructs harshly as he pulls back, staring at the scene unfolding in front of him like he is watching a movie. My head darts behind him as he takes a step back. My stomach turns into knots.

In the distance, I can make out figures moving, four men. Slowly, they make their way in my direction; as they search the forest shrubs and bushes, I realize my body is frozen and shaking with fear. Sukuna gives a small chuckle as his eyes turn back to mine. Where did they come from? I struggled to speak as I stammered, "W-who," but he ignored me, gesturing for me to stand. "What will they do when they find you?" He tilts his head to the side as his lips press together. His voice sounds empty, as if he was no longer present, lost in memories. "it's not me they are looking for," Sukuna said with an edge of disappointment. His expression was hard and unreadable.

The sound of movement startled me, the stomp of feet coming closer and closer as they searched for me. Terror began building inside of me as I took a moment to fully gain my senses. It took me longer than it should have, as my lungs were fighting to regain a stable breathing pattern.

The four men swiftly approached, their heavy footsteps echoing through the air as they wielded their swords menacingly. I stared wide-eyed, paralyzed at the danger encroaching upon me. I could hear shouts and the clanging of metal as they taunted and screamed all the lewd things they wanted to do to me as they closed in.

Why aren't I running away?

Sukuna's patience was wearing thin as they drew closer and closer. My vision is blurred, and the pounding has become intolerably loud. In my panic, I turned to look at Sukuna, a plea for help, for him to protect me, but it did not come out in words, "Ryomen," My eyes begged him to fight for us, but as I looked, I realized I wasn't gazing at Ryomen Sukuna, my husband and lover, but at Ryomen Sukuna, the king of curses.
