Two Is Twice The Blessing - Chapter 4

"So wait they just grew up? They didn't have to wait like everyone else to be adults?  Do all dragons do that mommy?"

"No Jacob.  This had been the first time that hatchlings just grew into adults within moments of losing their Tears since the Golden Era, when there used to be Gold dragons."

"What are gold dragons mommy? I though you said there were only five types of dragons.  Water, fire, earth, light and magic.  What were the Gold dragons abilities?"

"Gold dragons could do everything, Jacob."  I used my Fey magic once more taking back the dust and arranging it in the form of a gold dragon.  "They could move earth and water," the earth around the dragon jumped and water circled him before disappearing.  "They manipulated fire and light,"  the dragon breathed fire and the dust around him turned black while he shone through the darkness in the image before light returned to the dust.  "And they mastered magic."  The dragon disappeared and the reappeared smaller and further back in the image.  Jacob's eyes grew big watching the dragon.  He loved all the things my Fey magic showed him, and he was eager to learn how to use it himself seeing as he was a fey as well.

"So Gold dragons are basically just all the dragons mushed up into one dragon?"

"Yes, "  I laughed.  "That's what a Gold dragon is.  Now, where was I?"

"Wait mommy!  Didn't you say that there were twin human babies too?"

"Yes, Jacob, I did.  I was just about to get to that part!"  I laughed at his eagerness.

The Lady of the house screamed.  She was going into labor.

"Quick! Anabella!   Go in there and help her!" The Master of the house cried out to his servant who was rushing down the hallway.

"Wait, Anabella?  You mean my friend from our old home that always took care of me?"

"Yes Jacob, the very same woman!  But she was much younger back then.  Now shush!  Let me continue."

"Yes Master!"  Annabella rushed in the the room with towels and told one of the maids to go get some cold water.

"Mistress calm down it's going to be alright!"  Anabella took a wash cloth and wet it before folding it and placing it on the Mistress' forehead.  Anabella noticed that the new maid, Joana, was looking a little nervous.  "Joana, go and get some chairs or something for the mistress to grab on to while she pushes."  Joana nodded and left the room to get two rocking chairs from the hallway.

"Anabella!  It's coming!"

"Not yet Mistress!  Do not push!  Just hold on, you're not ready yet."  Anabella took her Mistress' legs and bent them so that they were spread wide apart and her feet were parallel with the bed.  Joana put the rocking chairs on either side of the bed and took her Mistress's hand, removing them from their clamped positions on the the bed sheets, and placed them on the backs of the rocking chairs.
