"Hey, babe?" I asked lying next to my boyfriend of 4 years, Patrick Kane. " yes ?" His horse voice came over my ears. " Do you think we're ever going to get married?" I mumbled into his chest.
No answer.
" Uh, Pat?" I said in shock hoping that he didn't hear the question. " I- uh yeah " he struggled. I knew he didn't really believe in marriage as much as me and my family. I just nod and get up to go to the bathroom. " where are you going-" Pat was cut off by me slamming the bathroom door.
I lock the door behind me and slide down it slowly, taking in what just happened. I sat pulling at my hair rethinking and replaying the situation. But soon enough tears began to flow. 'What was I going to do? ' I always thought I would walk down the aisle with the man I loved, but maybe marriage wasn't an option with Patrick. But I still loved him. We talked about this and he said we would eventually, I'm starting to lose hope.
" y/n.." My name was softly whispered. It sounded as if Patrick was on the floor on the other side. As if our heads were touching either sides of the door. " baby, please open the door.." He sounded.....hurt?
I got up hearing the same action being repeated by Patrick. I looked at myself; fixing my shirt a little. I grabbed the doorknob and unlocked the door. I opened slowly looking at my toes. ( Toews lol)
" I'm sorry, y/n." He sighed. " no, no, no, Patrick. It's your beliefs, I can't change it. " I scratched my neck not knowing what to do. "
Don't be sorry.." I squeaked out trying to get past him but an arm stopped me.
" Y/F/N ( your full name ) I love you with all my heart. " Patrick started. " you don't need to do this" I looked at him in shock. He took my hands and led me to the armoire and took a little red box out. " yes I do." I looked up seeing him smile.
" I love you so much it takes me by surprise sometimes. Before you, I was unlucky with love, but then, I found you. If this shows you even a little of how much I love you, then this is so worth it." He chuckles a little and gets down on one knee. " Y/n will you marry me?"
" Patrick, yes ! You didn't need to do this if you didn't want to!" I said in shock, tears filling my eyes of the thought of me forcing Pat to pop the question.
" Y/n I've been planning this for so long ! You didn't even notice. " he smiled slipping the ring on and picking me up. " I love you so much, Patrick. It scares me sometimes." I giggled.
" and i love you so much more, princesse." He smiled at me before throwing me on the bed.
" DONT YOU DARE " I pointed at him as he got closer. " I think someone needs a tickle.." He mumbled.
The rest was history.
