Light struck my eyes.

"You're finally awake," a man says.

I try to get up but the lady to my right puts me back, "rest."

I close my eyes from the stinging lights.

I open my eyes and get up with my hands. I turn to my right, then left.

"We did an electrocardiogram, and everything is alright, but we might do a physical test, it's not necessary though. Is that alright with you?"

I get up, my legs on the edge of the bed, "no. Where's my sister."

The lady looks at me, "sister?"

I nod.

"I was told there wasn't anyone in the house besides you and your mother," the lady says, "she went to one of her friends' houses."

"We can get one of the searches, they're still here," the lady walks to the door.

I nod. "Alright, just give me two minutes," she closes the door behind her.

I throw my head back to the bed.

Why did I have to nod?

I'm wasting these people's precious time.

My eyes dart around the room, my hands twitch, and shake.

I look at the floor.

I Inhale, but my lungs feel airless.

I look down on the floor, gray clouds my vision.

I squeeze the sheets.

Creak.

The doctor, and another lady enter the room.

"I think she sneaked out to her friend's house, she's done it before," I clench my hands. My legs tremble.

Samy is okay.

She is at one of her friend's houses like she said be.

The doctor pats my shoulder. I slouch.

"What's her name and her friend's name?"

"Samy, and her friend, I think she went to Rose's house," I say. She nods and walks to the door.

The doctor lady smiles and walks to her desk. She opens one of the cabins.

"A snack?"

I nod.

"Want a smoothie? There's mango, strawberry, blueberry, and pineapple?"

Gray clouds my eyes, "mango."

She walks to me and opens the bear chocolate snack, hands it to me, I take it.

She opens the mango smoothie bottle and softly closes it and hands it to me. I take it.
