Juhkam turns to me, and smiles.
He walks in, and I follow him, stopping once the porch roof entraps us.
A man - I think, considering the large bone structure - abnormally large bone structure for a man though - and a child are in front of us.
The child, a girl, looks over me and Juhkam, as if trying to remember where she last saw us.
"E, this is my spouse, Rvyaki, nnak is a Nnakyoa," I nod, and he continues, "and our daughter, Aoniu," he says.
"Hello, E," Rvyaki says, voice smooth, and soft.
And inhuman.
Humans don't look - this gorgeous, and sound - sound like they have the vocals of a mystical bird.
I look him down and up, my mouth open.
A nnakyoa.
He's a nnakyoa.
Stop mis-personifying gosh - you just miss-specied!
It's a good thing it never happened.
Nnak, it's a nnakyoa,
"Hi Rvyaki," I say, smiling at the nnaka.
"Hello, E," the nnaka says, nnk hands shaking as nnak holds it out for me. Dark spots are tattooed under nnk eyes.
Nnak's wearing a knitted aegean blue turtleneck sweater, and black high waist pants. A gold watch encloses nnk right hand, and an emerald thin line with some mineral matching nnk eyes on top of it.
I take nnk hand and shake it, it's rough, as if nnak just put them under water for an hour. And are literally the coldest hands I have ever touched.
"I'm sorry about your mother," nnak says, voice cracking. Hand further shaking in our hold.
Melina's not gone.
She will always be here. Don't be so mournful.
I keep the words on my tongue. "Thanks," I say.
Nnk left hand hold on Aoniu tightens, "I know this is difficult, but I want you to know that you're welcome here. If you have anything that I can help you with, you're always welcome to come to me anytime."
The words are less shaky, more controlled.
Devoid of emotions.
But they feel sincere.
I keep my eyes locked on nnk, and my lips turn a little upwards.
Nnak smiles, and lets go of my hand, Nnak turns to Juhkam, "I got the bed ordered and ready in the room."
Juhkam nods.
"Why don't you give him a tour and introduce him?"
Juhkam turns to me, "alright, come along E," he says, smiling.
