Chapter 24: { A New Beginning }

"Mom!" Nene shouted as she entered a room, still in her graduation clothes and her eyes are red and swollen from crying.

Nene saw her mother covered up in bandages I she laid on the hospital bed, unconscious, and a few spots on her arms had a tint of blue, It was obvious that she was beaten up.

Nene ran towards her mother, seeing her current condition right now she couldn't help but feel bad and guilty.

"Ah, you must be Nene-chan." A nurse said. "Don't worry dear, your mother is alright now... She's in a coma and it'll take a while for her to wake up."

"A-ah...when will she wake up?"

The nurse shook her head and a frown plastered on her face. "That....we do not know, it's best if we just give her treatments for now. And that treatment is going to cost a bit expensive....But, a young man dropped by earlier and said that he'll be paying the first few treatments."

Nene's eyes widened. "He paid for it?"

The nurse nodded. "Yes, he's quite handsome too, is he your boyfriend?"

Nene's fist clenched into a ball and she bit her lower lip and then lowered her head, her eyes twitching. What was he thinking? After of what just happened? Why would he do it?

Nene was greatful for it but she couldn't help herself but feel hurt and angry.

The nurse noticed her reaction, "Are you okay Nene-chan? I'm sorry if I said anything wrong that might have offend but I just assumed that he was your boyfriend."

"No... he's not." Nene mumbled. "He's just a stranger."

"Oh...." A of silence passed by and the nurse did up from her chair. "I'll take my leave, I'll let you have your privacy."

She passed by Nene-chan then went out of the room leaving her and her mother alone.

Nene stood there for a while her head low, looking at her mother's face, a few seconds later a sob can be heard from Nene's mouth. She was crying, feeling hopeless, just as she thought that everything was alright it all ended so fast.

Amane paid for the few first treatment for her mother, but what is she going to do now? Does she still want to go to college? Or would she just drop college and find a job for her mother's future treatments?

Everything was a mad mess, Nene didn't know what to do. Her sobs became louder and her tears started making their way down to her cheeks and falling down to the cold concrete floor of the hospital.

She cried there in her spot and she fell down to her knees and cried on her mother's hospital bed as she held her mother's arm. Holding a tightly.

"M-mom I'm so sorry, why did this happen to us. Please get better soon I need you...." She cried and cried continuously, it's all she can do right now. After she fell asleep in her same position.

After that terrible experience of her life, she decided to just to continue college and study architecture as her major.

She also work a part time job at a fancy restaurant that really helped her a lot, she was now paying her mother's treatment out of her own money.

She studied day and night, studying until she couldn't anymore, she was dedicated to be successful and have lots of money and hopefully go on vacation with her mother when she finally wakes up. It was all she could ask for.

But that didn't mean that she didn't think of Amane, he would always be at the back of her mind reminding her about the past. The past that left her trauma.

She was both angry and grateful for him.

After her graduation, she was the only one without a parent attending her. She walked up the stage and received her diploma she was finally graduating, a new chapter of her life is waiting.

She smiled in front of a crowd smiling like she never smiled before but, deep down she felt empty. It felt like something was missing, she knows that she desperately want her mother to be there to watch her walk up the stage and see her receive her diploma. But she knew it was something else, and she didn't want to admit it.

It hurts, the truth hurts the most.

She really missed Amane.

A few months passed by and Nene last accepted in a huge company for architectures, the salary was fair It was enough for her mother treatment and for her everyday life.

But she didn't quit her part time job, so Nene worked two jobs. Though it was stressful she still manage to survive.

"Uh, excuse me." A girl spoke to Nee as she hold some papers and folders in her hands. Nene looked up at her direction with a questioning look. "The boss wants to see you in his office."

Nene gulped. What could she have done to be called in her boss's office? She stood up from her char and turned of her computer where she was working in a blueprint.

"I'll come right away, thank you for informing me." Nene said calmly as she could. "Excuse me." She bowed her head with respect them head straight to her boss's office. She knocked.

A few seconds later a voice finally spoke saying the word "Come in." Nene opened the door and was immediately greeted by her boss's presence. He was smiling and was leaning against his chair. Well, somebody's in a good mood.

"What did you call me for sir?" Nene questioned as she walked Infront her boss's table.

Her boss gaved a joyful smile before saying "Congratulations Miss Nene, your promoted."

Nene widened her eyes in disbelief. "R-really!?"

Her boss chuckled, "Yep, I've noticed for the last 11 months  since you worked here, all of your clients seemed very satisfied with your work."

"Thank you sir! You have no idea how much this means to me!"

"Haha,now.... A new client called me earlier and requested you specifically to design a mansion for them in Singapore." The boss said.

"M-me??"

"Yes, our client said that it was for his niece."

"Woah, a mansion for a niece?"

"Yeah! They're filthy rich I guees. So, are you in for it? This could be a life changer for you if you're satisfied then."

"Yes, of course!!"
