"𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘'𝐑𝐄 making you write all these tryout articles, you worked on the Franklin at Chilton, isn't that enough?" Olive asked, her hands on her car's wheel.

Both Rory and Olive were driving back to Stars Hollow, discussing how exasperating it was to try to get into the Yale Daily News.

"It's a time-honored tradition, apparently, Paris isn't fond of it either... Nevertheless, all our forebears had to do it."

"Still, I can't believe they scrapped your review of the chamber music recital!"

"I know, at first I thought I wasn't looking thoroughly enough, but when I asked Doyle he said it was a bit of a yawn."

"A bit of a yawn?" Olive repeated incredulously "Chamber music recitals aren't exactly like a Taylor Swift concert..."

"That's what I said! They tend to be very low-key, right? But he said my writing was yawny."

"Isn't he a bundle of joy," Olive commented rolling her eyes.

"He's just doing his job..." Rory defended "I'll be better next time."

"He could've been a little kinder, Ror..." Olive admitted.

"I know, I know! Hey, the Yale - Harvard game is close! You're sure you're not coming?"

"Haven't really confirmed it with Jess, but I already bought the bus tickets to New York, so... Yeah, I'm not going to the game."

"But it's the first game as Yale freshmen! You'll regret missing it."

"I'm going to take a picture smiling and one frowning, either way, it'll seem like we lost or we won and that I was there. Besides, I don't care about that stuff."

"You don't care about anything if it comes to Jess," Rory commented.

"Shut up, I'm just visiting him in his new apartment. I promised him I would!"

"I know you did, I'm just sad you'll be missing this."

Olive swerved into her house's driveway, put her car in park, and looked at her best friend "I would've been bored the whole time, let's go to Luke's now."

As they walked down the sidewalk, Lane spotted them and ran out of Kim's antiques "Hey, Liv! Ror! You're back!" she shouted.

"Lane!" Olive embraced her "Wanna join us for breakfast?"

"Sure, yeah!" she nodded "How's it going at Yale?"

"Terrible," Rory exaggerated "I'm trying to get into the Yale Daily News, they're making us write tryout articles and my last one didn't get in."

"Why?" Lane furrowed her eyebrows "You're a great journalist!"

"The director said my writing was a bit of a yawn."
