LISA
I wanted to step aside because Jennie was too close to me, but she noticed this immediately and beat me to it. She suddenly put her hand behind my back and pulled me towards her. I hit her chest harshly and opened my eyes in shock. I felt her pulling me closer and closer to her and how she was gently pressing the back of my head against her neck with her other hand.
"Please stop crying." She said in a soft voice, while I looked into the emptiness in amazement. Never in my life had I seen such concern for myself in another person. Never before had I actually had such a feeling to be safe. Even though she was about to shoot someone in the forehead.
"I'll do anything you want, but stop crying." She said quietly, whereby I swallowed hard and quickly suppressed my tears that were coming up. I then cleared my throat quietly and pushed myself away from her again.
"I just want to go home." I spoke quietly and tried to pull my skirt further and further down. It disgusted me how this bastard went under my skirt and just pulled it up. It disgusted me that it was so easy for men to harass us.
As if we had no value. As if we were simply objects.
Jennie also noticed this. I could see the worry in her eyes just disappearing again. She tensed her jaw and breathed in and out deeply. Then she suddenly took off her jacket and placed it over my shoulders.
"He will suffer for this. Trust me." She said to me, while she slowly and carefully pulled my hair out of the jacket. I looked at her as perplexed with wide eyes and was just amazed at her as always. She took my hand and then led me to the door of the café, I just followed her and looked silently at our hands.
She was a stranger. I shouldn't go with her and let her lead me. My parents always warned me about big and bad people and told me to stay away from them. Jennie was definitely one of them, but I didn't stay away from her. Instead, I fell more and more into her arms.
As we stepped outside, I immediately noticed three cars parked in front of the café. There were at least five men in suits standing in front of them who immediately looked at us.
"There's a man lying on the floor inside. Take him to the hall." Jennie ordered these men, and a few of them immediately rushed to the café. Confused, I looked at Jennie, who then opened the door of a car for me and then looked at me expectantly.
"I'll take you home." She said and then looked at me gently, whereby I nodded my head slightly in agreement and slowly got into the car.
"You go first. I'll come later." I heard Jennie say as she held out the seatbelt to me. I grabbed it and then immediately buckled myself up.
"But boss, that's too dangerous and-" One of the men said, but when Jennie closed the car door loudly, his sentence stopped for me.
Curious, I looked outside and saw Jennie arguing with the men. But when the other men came back from the café, I looked away from her and when I saw them carrying the unconscious man to a car, I swallowed hard.
What will happen to him now?
Suddenly the car door opened, whereupon Jennie sat down and immediately started the car. I slowly looked away from the window and then looked at her while she then drove away with squealing tires. You could still quickly see her anger and aggressiveness. I have the feeling that things affected her even more than it did me which actually didn't make any sense.
"Where are these men taking the man?" I asked her, breaking the silence between us. With a frown, I looked at Jennie, who was running her other hand through her hair. Then she glanced at me briefly and saw then quickly back onto the empty and dark street.
"I'll take care of it." She said briefly and succinctly, while I bit lightly on the inside of my cheek. Desperately, I looked out the window again and tried to sort my thoughts out as quickly as possible.
"Was it you?" I suddenly asked her, immediately wanting to slap my forehead. I didn't want to ask her that, but my cheeky face once again had a different opinion.
"What about me?" She asked me confused, whereupon I swallowed hard and looked back at her.
"Forget it." I said quietly, playing nervously with my hands, hoping that she wouldn't ask anymore.
"What, Lalisa?!" She asked me louder this time, whereupon I looked at my hands and pressed my lips together. Why does she always get aggressive so quickly?!
"Whether you paid him to touch me!" I blurted out. Jennie then looked at me with wide eyes.
"It could be! After all, you would have known that I would be crying in your arms." I continued talking even though I should keep my mouth shut. What I just said didn't make any sense but I said it anyway. I didn't like it at all that she saw me crying, although my brain is thinking really nonsensical and shitty.
When Jennie suddenly braked the car in the middle of the street, I looked up at her in shock. And then when her angry eyes looked at me, I immediately regretted saying my thoughts out loud.
"You really think I did that?!" She said angrily, whereupon I desperately ran my hand through my hair and closed my eyes for a brief second.
"What do I know! I'm just confused and have no idea what's happening around me!" I said, also upset and finally sighed in despair. Suddenly Jennie came closer to me, grabbed the back of my head with her hand and then pulled it towards her. When I was so close to her and she looked me so intently in the eyes, my nervousness immediately increased again.
"Listen to me carefully, Lalisa Manoban." She said in a dominant and deep voice, which made me swallow hard.
"Nobody. Nobody but me, touches you. That bastard. I will break his arms and make him suffer for a long time for even looking at you." She said, fire sparkling in her eyes.
"It was not me. Do you understand me?" She asked me sternly, and I just looked at her silently and didn't answer.
"Do you understand me, Lisa?" She asked me more sternly this time, which made me nod my head slightly. Finally she let me go again, and I immediately pushed myself as close to the other side of her as possible.
"Will you ever leave me alone and forget me?" I then asked her quietly, whereby she looked back at me and the anger in her eyes suddenly disappeared.
"Never." She said briefly, started the car again and drove further down the dark street.
And from that moment I knew that my life would never be the same again.
