Emilia walked back into the mansion, her mind still reeling from the encounter with her mother's ghostly form. She was lost in thought, trying to process everything that had happened.
As she entered the grand foyer, her aunt, Victoria, walked up to her, a look of concern etched on her face. "Emilia, dear, what were you doing outside? You've been gone for hours. I was starting to worry."
Emilia hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. She didn't know if she was ready to share her experiences with her aunt, or if she even understood them herself.
"I just needed some fresh air, Aunt Victoria," Emilia said finally, trying to brush it off. "I was just thinking."
Victoria's eyes narrowed slightly, as if she didn't quite believe Emilia's explanation. "Thinking? Out there? For hours? Emilia, you know you're not supposed to wander off on your own. It's not safe."
Emilia felt a surge of frustration. She knew her aunt was just trying to protect her, but she couldn't help feeling suffocated by the constant supervision.
"I'm fine, Aunt Victoria," Emilia said, trying to reassure her. "Really. I just needed some time to myself."
Victoria's expression softened slightly, but Emilia could tell she was still worried. "Okay, dear. But please, be more careful in the future. I can't afford to lose you too."
Emilia nodded, feeling a pang of guilt for worrying her aunt. She knew Victoria was only trying to protect her, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her aunt's concerns than met the eye.
"I will, Aunt Victoria," Emilia said, trying to sound reassuring. "I promise."
Victoria nodded, seeming to accept Emilia's promise. "Good. Now, come and have some lunch. You must be starving."

As Emilia finished her lunch, she felt a wave of fatigue wash over her. The events of the past few days had taken their toll, and she decided to retire to her room for an early night's rest. She climbed into bed, feeling the softness of the blankets envelop her, and soon drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Emilia woke up to a startling sight. A tall, handsome man with dark brown hair and piercing brown eyes was looming over her, his face inches from hers. His chiseled features and strong jawline made her heart skip a beat. She gasped, her mind foggy from sleep, and tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the pillow.
The man's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, and Emilia's fear began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of curiosity. He was dressed in a simple white shirt and dark jeans, but his presence was anything but ordinary. He exuded a sense of confidence and strength, and Emilia felt a shiver run down her spine as he gazed at her.
"Good morning," he said, his deep voice low and husky. "I didn't mean to startle you. My name is Liam. I've been sent to guard you."
Emilia's eyes widened in surprise as she took in Liam's words. Guard her? Why? She tried to ask questions, but Liam's serious expression made her hesitate. Instead, she nodded, feeling a sense of security wash over her. Maybe having a guardian wouldn't be so bad, she's been experiencing weird things the last two days anyway.
Emilia's face turned bright red as she yelled, "But why were you so close to my face?" She couldn't believe how intimate the moment felt, and she tried to cover up her embarrassment with indignation.
Liam chuckled and held up his hands in mock defense. "Hey, I was just trying to make sure you were breathing! I didn't mean to invade your personal space."
Emilia's blush deepened as she realized how silly she must look. "Well, you could have just stood back and looked at me from afar," she said, trying to sound stern but failing miserably.
Liam grinned mischievously. "Where's the fun in that? Besides, I wanted to make sure you were as beautiful up close as you are from afar."
Emilia's heart skipped a beat at the compliment, and she looked away, trying to hide her smile. "You're ridiculous," she muttered, but she couldn't help feeling a flutter in her chest.
Liam laughed and sat down on the bed beside her. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here."
Emilia suddenly changed the subject to not bring anymore embarrassment onto herself.
Emilia's eyes narrowed. "My aunt doesn't know you're here, does she?" she asked, her voice firm.
Liam's expression faltered, and he looked away, his jaw clenched. "No, she doesn't," he admitted finally. "The Headmaster of The Elemental school sent me and thought it would be best if I kept an eye on you without your aunt's knowledge."
Emilia felt a surge of anger. "So, you're spying on me?" she accused, her voice rising.
Liam stood up, his hands held out in a calming gesture. "No, Emilia, it's not like that. I'm here to protect you, to keep you safe from those who would harm you."
Emilia's eyes narrowed slightly as she asked, "Liam, are you here to help me teleport through the crystal?"
Liam's expression turned serious, and he nodded. "Yes, Emilia. That's one of the reasons I was sent. The crystal is a powerful tool, one that can help you unlock your full potential. But it's also dangerous if not used properly. I'm here to guide you through the process, to ensure your safety."
Emilia felt a shiver run down her spine as she gazed at the crystal, now glowing softly on a nearby pedestal wich Liam placed there earlier. She could feel its power calling to her, tempting her.
"What do I need to do?" she asked Liam, her voice barely above a whisper.
Liam stepped closer, his eyes locked onto hers. "You need to focus your energy, Emilia. Reach deep within yourself and tap into your inner power. The crystal will do the rest."
Emilia took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She could feel the weight of the unknown pressing down on her, but with Liam by her side, she felt a sense of determination. She was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
