ELOISE was sitting in her chemistry class, bored out of her mind. mia was late (again), and she had no clue how to do the problem. then, the door slammed open, and appeared none other than mia white.
"sorry sir! my locker wouldn't open!" mia exclaims, running to her seat next to eloise, who was giggling out of her mind at her best friend's antics. "ellie, shut it." she whispers to the girl.
"well, look who finally showed up! after forever! i was starting to lose hope you'd come!" eloise replied, before noticing mia's eyes drift to behind them, her face turning sour.
"what is it?" eloise asked.
"i didn't know she was getting put in this class." mia says with distaste, and eloise follows her line of sight and... uh oh. evie. that wasn't going to be a good mix, especially with mia's usual sassy remarks and quips.
"oh. well, please don't be mean if she talks to you. she's really sweet! they all are!" eloise reaffirms, going on to tell mia about her meeting with the vk's.
unbeknownst to mia and eloise, two pairs of eyes were on them. evie and doug.
"any chance she's in line for the throne? anywhere in line?" evie asks dreamily, looking at eloise.
"well, you know eloise, but that's her best friend mia white. daughter of snow white, and my cousin." doug tells her.
"daughter of snow white?! oh gosh..."
"eloise inherited her mother's hair, but not a lot of there-there..." doug says, ignoring the remark about snow white.
"looks like there-there to me." she says. before the teacher cuts in.
"evie! this looks like just the review for you. so tell me, what is the average atomic weight of silver?" evie pauses for a moment.
"atomic weight? well, not very much. i mean, it's an atom, right?" she says with a chuckle, earning one from the blonde boy across her, chad charming. the teacher makes a gesture for her to come up to the board and solve it. "let's see." she whispers, walking up to the board. "how do i find the average atomic weight of silver? that would be... 106.905 times 0.5200 plus 108.905 times 0.4800, which, mr. deley, would give us 107.9 amu."
"i forget. always a mistake to underestimate a..."
"villain? don't make it again." she cuts in with faux sweetness, tossing him the chalk and heading back to her seat.
"how did she know all that? she's insanely smart!" eloise exclaimed, and mia butted in.
"she had something in her hand. she was probably cheating." which earned a little 'oh' from eloise.
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: alright guys, chapter 2 is done! i know this one is wayy shorter than the first chapter, but i'll try to make chapters longer. and yes, i'm cutting out the whole chad-evie thing. she can't have a crush on eloise if she's 'dating' chad. and mia made her first appearance! i know she seems mean rn, but it's for the plot and she will have character development. byeee, and thanks for reading!
