"He so likes you Mar! Now, we have to make you look pretty for the party on Saturday. You always dress so plain! Sapphire blue would complement your eyes, but brown would match your hair, your skin tone, and pretty much everything!" Alison began to sift through her closet as I sat at her vanity, and sighed of exasperation.

"He doesn't like me!" I called out, knowing it would be hard for her to hear me from her huge walk in closet.

She knew that we weren't the same size. She was way taller and petite, whereas I was short and curvy. She was going through her closet for show. After she realizes 'nothing is my style' she'll drag me to the mall to go shopping. Ugh, I hated the mall.

Bored, I took out my phone to go on Tumblr, then groaned when I realized my IPhone was at 5%. Seeing nothing else to do to pass the time I stared into the mirror and began to attempt to fix my hair. As I began brushing through it, I realized maybe I was too plain. My hair was dark brown, frizzy, and wavy, not unique at all. (Well, today it was wavy. It's bipolar you see. Sometimes it's curly, sometimes it straight, and sometimes I have an Afro. Fun, huh?) My nose was normal sized, my lips weren't too small, yet not ginormous. My skin wasn't too pale, or super tan. Just average. The only partially unique thing about me was my eyes. They were a normal space away from each other, and although they were a dull pale blue, I constantly hear that they're huge. I've been told it makes me look younger and innocent. I'm not sure if it's an insult or a compliment...

"Oh no! I have nothing that's your style! We better go to the mall! I'm going to make you look nice in front of your future boyfriend, especially since I can't go to the party tomorrow," Alison exclaimed. I paused, jerking my head in her direction.

"What do you mean your not coming?" I asked as she walked out of her closet. She smiled at me guiltily and wrung her hands together.

"Well my dad wants me to go to his special dinner for work with him and-"

"Your leaving me alone with Alex?!" I bellowed, staring at her in disbelief. I couldn't believe she would do that to me! Alison looked me in the eye sadly.

"Mar, you know my dad never wants me to do anything with him and he invited me to go with him. It's progress. Ever since my mom..." Alison drifted, tears welling up in her eyes. I quickly shot out of my seat and hugged her.

"I'm sorry, I'm just nervous. I guess I can manage. Now wipe that frown off your face because..." I began.

"B-because w-what?" Alison sniffled.

"Because we're going shopping."
