Their bodies were tangled together when Bosco woke up that next morning. She yawned quietly, the gentle hold on her waist making her heart melt. She raised her head to find Daya was still fast asleep, and she couldn't help the smile that spread on her face as she gazed down at how peaceful she looked.

Daya's lips were slightly parted, her sharp teeth catching Bosco's attention. She didn't feel scared though. She laid a hand on Daya's pale cheek, her thumb lightly tracing over the scar across her eye. The longer she gazed at her, the more marks she could see. She wondered where they were from, how she had gotten them. She hoped it hadn't hurt.

Her free hand drifted up to Daya's dark hair. The locks were silky smooth, and her fingers threaded through them easily. The vampire let out a quiet hum at the feeling, her eyes opening just a little so she could gaze up at Bosco. She could get used to waking up like this.

Bosco's movements stopped when she met her eyes. "S-Sorry." She apologized, moving her hands away. "I didn't mean to wake you."

Daya took her hands, placing them back where they were before wrapping her arms back around the smaller girl and pulling her closer. "This is nice." She whispered. "Can we stay like this?"

Bosco blushed heavily, but nodded quickly. "S-Sure."

Daya snuggled closer. She had never woken up feeling so good before. She tucked her head against Bosco's neck, her eyes closing again as she breathed in the girl's new comforting scent.

Bosco went stiff. She wasn't sure how she felt about Daya being so close to her neck. But her touch was remaining gentle, and her hands felt so nice tracing small patterns along her back. It didn't take much for her to fall limp. "Please be careful..."

Daya's eyes widened when she realized where her head was. She quickly raised it, afraid of scaring Bosco. "I'm sorry-" She apologized in a panic. "I didn't mean to scare you, I just forgot-"

"It's okay." Bosco reached out to lay a hand on Daya's cheek, but was stopped when her stomach growled and reminded her of the fact that she hadn't really eaten in the past day. Daya's eyes widened in concern.

"Oh no, I didn't even think about you being hungry." Her tone was worried now. "I'm so sorry, I don't think I have anything that you can eat..."

Bosco ignored how hungry she was, wanting to stay by the vampire's side for just a little longer. She tried to stop Daya's worrying by leaning her head against her chest, practically in her lap. "What do you eat? Besides...you know. Since you can't leave this place."

Daya blushed over the contact, her pale cheeks a now light shade of pink. "Whatever comes to me." She said quietly. "Forest animals, the fruit that grows from the plant on the side of the castle. But that's not always in season. And the people who ventured out here to try to hurt me, but that hasn't happened in a long time."

Bosco went stiff again in her arms, glancing up at her. "...Why won't you hurt me? Especially if you haven't had...blood, in a while."

Daya reached out to run her hand through Bosco's hair. "You were so scared when I saw you." She said quietly. "And looked so small and weak. I had never wanted to protect someone so badly before. I can't hurt you. You're...different."

Bosco let herself relax again, her words making her heart skip a beat. No one had ever talked to her this way before. "O-Oh..."

Their soft moment had to end though. Daya pulled back the curtain surrounding her bed, sitting up completely and pulling the blankets away. "And anyways, it's not like starvation can kill me. I'll be here forever." She stood up and held a hand out for the smaller girl. "But we need to get you dressed and on your way home. You need to eat."
