Stella's P.O.V.
I stood there, wrapped in my towel, still damp from the shower, staring at him in disbelief. My mind raced with a hundred questions: How did he get in? Why was he here? And most importantly, how long had he been waiting?
The grip on my towel tightened as I tried to compose myself. "I thought we established that there would be no more stalking like this."
Kairo frowned, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Huh, funny... I don't remember that."
"At least ring the goddamn bell before you come! It's there for a reason, you creep!" I tossed a pillow at him in frustration, but it only made him chuckle.
"Careful, darling. Any further action might not be the best move for your situation with the towel," he said, propping himself up on his elbow and eyeing me up and down as if he were lounging on a throne. His legs sprawled comfortably across my bed, giving him an air of ownership.
"Although," he continued, his voice dropping to a low, suggestive tone, "I wouldn't mind if that towel dropped right now."
Heat flushed to my cheeks, and I cursed at him, feeling my face burn with embarrassment and anger. Without another word, I rushed to the washroom, grabbing the nearest outfit I could find while muttering curses under my breath.
Kairo's laughter followed me as I stormed into the washroom, leaving him behind with his flirtatious, irritating smirk.
Flirt and a pervert.
I quickly changed into a yellow T-shirt and pink floral pants. I looked ridiculous, but at least I wasn't naked.
"What the hell do you want?" I said, coming out of the bathroom and drying my hair with a towel.
"You didn't throw the rose this time," Kairo said with a small smile, twirling the said rose between his fingers.
"That's not an answer," I scoffed, crossing my arms. The soft smile however was giving air to weird emotions.
"You removed all the cameras. I couldn't see what was happening and my curiosity got the best of me."
I looked at him in disbelief, my frustration bubbling up again. "So you decided to barge into my apartment because you were curious?"
Kairo's grin widened, unabashed. "Pretty much. And I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the pink floral pants. Quite the fashion statement."
I rolled my eyes, not in the mood for his games. "Seriously, Kairo, if you have something to say, just say it. Otherwise, I'd like you to leave."
He leaned back on the bed, looking entirely too comfortable. "Well, since you asked," he said, his tone shifting to a more serious note, "I came to discuss something important. But seeing as I've made quite an entrance, maybe we should start with you telling me what's got you so worked up."
I sighed, running a hand through my still-damp hair. This was going to be one of those conversations, wasn't it?
"Marco Alvarez is looking for me," I sighed, the weight of the news settling heavily.
Kairo's eyes darkened despite his casual demeanor. He sat up on the bed, his previous amusement replaced by a more serious expression. "Figured as much."
"How?" I frowned in confusion. "How did you know?"
"Wasn't it obvious?" Kairo said, his tone laced with a mix of irritation and a twisted kind of amusement. "He had taken an interest in you, and after what happened at the Masquerade, you just vanished. That would spark anyone's curiosity, especially someone like him. You have a knack for making men curious about you, darling."
