Rhaenyra laughed when she beheld the ruin of Sunfyre the Golden.

"Whose work is this?" Rhaenyra questioned. "We must thank him."

"Sister," Aegon called down from a balcony. Unable to walk, or even stand, he had been carried there in a chair. The hip shattered at Rook's Rest had left Aegon bent and twisted, his once-handsome features had grown puffy from milk of the poppy, and burn scars covered half his body yet he was still fighting to stay on top. Rhaenyra knew him at once, Rhaenyra scowled up at him

"Dear brother. I had hoped that you were dead." Rhaenyra called up.

"After you," Aegon answered. "You are the elder." he countered.

"I am pleased to know that you remember that," Rhaenyra answered moving forward. "It would seem we are your prisoners... but do not think that you will hold us long. My leal lords will find me."

"If they search the seven hells, mayhaps," Aegon answered. Rhaenyra tensed as men flocked them. Aeron and Jensen were quick to draw their swords. None of the other knights and lords present in the yard spoke a word of protest as King Aegon delivered his half-sister to his dragon.

"We won rhaenyra is dead. This is good news!" Aelsa proclaimed "this wasn't a bad idea after all this is good. We won! Shes dead. All hail Aegon and me for keeping your sorry asses alive this long."

"A time for peace?" Otto questioned hopfully.

"Yes, and a vacation." Aelsa agreed.

"you left for half a year." Aegon corrected.

"And?" Aelsa countered. "You think worrying for my life every day and your life and worrying about what was going on here-"

"Mama you said you never wanted to come back here and it was stupid." Lila corrected. Aegon stared back at her.

"Yeah well..." Aelsa shrugged. "Valyrian steel armor. Very light and very strong and very rare."

"What?" Aegon countered.

"You remember your armor? There were many scales and talons within the armor, even little dragon clasps." Aelsa recalled.

"I recall."

"That armor saved you then."

"You call this saved?"

"You are alive." Aelsa agreed. "Now think of me and the council as your armor, you will get hurt if you dont listen to us. Can you fucking listen to us?"

"You are not my hand Aelsa, My grandsire is, the one thing my brother did right." Aegon countered.

"I'm sorry your grace," Otto countered. "THis position belongs to Aelsa." Aelsa smiled back at otto, he stood beside Ollivander they looked the part of father and son. As ollivander grew he looked more and more like Gwayne, Otto's eldest son.

"Fine," Aegon agreed

"You have to listen to me and get the people back on your side." Aelsa commanded.

Aelsa and Alicent both agreed that Aegon would make Lady Cassandra, Lord Borros's eldest daughter, his new queen. Aelsa didnt know what happened in the moons that passed while she was in a state of bliss at old town but Helaena was gone and Aemond was MIA.

The problem posed by the Velaryon fleet was discussed at some length. Aelsa was annoyed that they needed Corlys Velaryon. He needed to join them.

"We must bring the Sea Snake into this," Aelsa remarked.

"Perhaps the old man would like a new young wife. I have two daughters not yet spoken for." Lord Baratheon offered.

"Despicable." Aelsa hissed.

"He is traitor thrice over," Alicent countered.

"Rhaenyra could never have taken King's Landing but for him." Aelsa added.

" His Grace my son will not have forgotten. I want him dead." Alicent demanded.

"He will die soon enough in any case," replied Larys nonchalantly. "Let us make our peace with him now, and make what use of him we can. Once all is safely settled, if we have no further need of House Velaryon, we can always lend the Stranger a hand."

"My knees are old and stiff and do not bend easily," Lord Corlys responded as he came before Aegon and Aelsa.

"Fine." Aelsa agreed. "Then verbally bend." Corlys nodded before setting forth terms of his own. He wanted pardons not only for himself, but for all those who had fought for Queen Rhaenyra, and demanded further that Aegon the Younger be given Princess Jaehaera's hand in marriage, so the two of them might jointly be proclaimed King Aegon's heirs.

"The realm has been split asunder," he said. "We must needs join it back together."

"Deal." Aegon agreed past Aelsa's objections. Aelsa demanded he listen to her begged him to let her do the consulting But Aegon wasnt one for listening. He wanted all the bastards killed next. Every man and boy alike wanted the throne for themselves, Rhaenyra had revealed that bastards could claim dragons, making them just as powerful as noble born. Aegon didnt listen to his council if he ever did. Aelsa was sick of trying to get him to understand, to obey.

She stopped trying.

"You are in a good mood." Larys remarked as she linked her arm with his.

"I have decided that I dont care." Aelsa agreed. "It really takes a weight off my shoulders." She agreed. Larys chuckled kissing her cheek.

"What shall we do with all this newfound freedom?" Larys pondered.

"Anything."

But six moons later aegon was poisoned in his own bed presumably by his own men. Everyone looked to the dutiful hand

"I can quit now." Aelsa decided. "I quit. I give up. How does harrenhal look these days?" Larys opened his mouth to speak but aelsa kept going. "You are absolutely right. Casterly rock is better. Let us set out at once for casterly rock. It is impregnable. Alaric im assuming you are coming?"

"Yes sister." Alaric agreed.

"Aelsa." Alicent begged. "You leave and you are-"

"You know what, I'm fine with being a traitor."
