Next morning...
Arjun was getting ready for work when his phone rang. It was a call from an unknown number. He answered it.
Arjun: Who's this?
Voice: Your new friend.
Arjun smiled and replied.
Arjun: Naina
Naina: Yes, Arjun.
Don't know why but his name Arjun without the addition of Sir sounded so soothing from Naina's mouth. Probably because he could hear his name in Riya's voice although the mouth who called his name was someone else's.
Naina: So, got up?
Arjun: already. How did you know?
Naina: You look like a man who talks less and work more, and you know those who works more sleeps less and who sleeps less they wake up early. So, I can easily guess that you are already awake.
Arjun: Wow... Your logic. Didn't think anything like it... means so logical I would ever hear from a woman's mouth.
Naina: You know one should never judge a woman's ability.
And like this once again this girl reminded him of someone who was special for him even though he never acknowledged her special when she was alive. Getting no counter comment Naina checked her phone and asked again.
Naina: Arjun? Are you there? Can you hear me?
Arjun came back to his sense and replied.
Arjun: ya.. I can hear you. Sorry, I got distracted. What were you telling?
Naina: I was telling that one should never judge a woman's ability.
Arjun: I'm not judging dear I know Women are capable of doing anything. Someone had already taught me this lesson.
Naina: Who? Your wife?
Arjun: No
Naina: Riya?
Arjun: How did you guess?
Naina: Don't know why but I feel she could be the one. She seems close to you. Was she your friend?
Arjun: No. She wasn't. She was ...... (thinking and speaking) like a person that one did not need any relationship to connect with her. Our first interaction was not good ....... (laughed) actually first one and half month was not good. I scolded her a lot, talked rudely, even told her that she was not fit for field work, and she would always be a problem for the team because she could not fight. Despite all these, she always respected me, trusted me, motivated me. Her company became comfortable. Actually, she was the peace which I wanted to have after my wife's death. But see, God snatched her also.
Naina: You miss her a lot na?
Arjun: Yes, I do. There are reasons to remember her. First of all, she sacrificed her life to save others'. She was the hygiene freak, never touched her coffee mug to her lips without wiping it with tissues but you know she, not for a second, hesitated to sacrifice her. That's why she is worth remembering. And she was the only one who told me that At the End I Will Win.
As soon as Arjun finished his line, he heard the beep sound in his phone indicating that someone else was also calling. It was Sameer's call. Thinking that it could be related to any new case, Arjun bid bye to Naina and cut the call-to-call Sameer. Naina half-heartedly said bye. Why? Because she could not ask the question for which she had called him. That question did not let her sleep whole night, and the question was - Did Arjun use to love Riya?
