Part: 18

At Midnight...

Arjun was awake as usual. He was studying his wife murder's case thoroughly once again. Suddenly he heard Naina's screams. He ran to his, now her bedroom. He found her sitting on the bed holding her head with her both hands. She was looking down.

Arjun: Are you alright?

She did not reply. Arjun went near her and tapped on her shoulder. She at once looked at him. Now, Arjun was able to see her sweat covered face and tears filled eyes. It was surely a bad dream. 

Arjun: Hey, what happened?

Hearing this, Naina hugged him tightly without saying anything. She was shivering, maybe because of fear. Arjun was taken aback by her sudden hugging act but didn't say anything and hugged her lightly to calm her down.

Arjun: Now, you're scaring me, Naina. What happened baby?

Baby? Really, Arjun??? But what could he do? At that moment she was behaving like a baby only. A cute baby who had woken up because of a bad dream. This 'baby' word came from his mouth without any calculation. He himself didn't know why he called her baby. 

Naina (stammering): Bad dream... it was a bad dream. I saw someone was trying to harm Sahil. Arjun, my Sahil is in danger. My love is in danger. This bad dream is a warning. Something bad is going to happen. I'm scared Arjun. I really am. Please do something. 

She started crying bitterly.

Arjun (rubbing her shoulder lightly): First of all, calm down. Nothing bad will happen. It was just a bad dream. Sahil is away now; you are upset because of that and that is why you had this bad dream. Everything is alright.

Naina: But my dream? It was really a bad one.

Arjun: Relax, everything is fine. You try to sleep. Ok? Calm down. Come on, lie down.

Naina shook her head but Arjun gently made her lie down and by blinking his eyes asked her to close her eyes and try to sleep. She did the same. Arjun was about to move from there, she held his hand.

Naina: Arjun, please be here. I'm scared.

Arjun smiled and sat on the chair near her bed.

Arjun: Can't believe that a girl like you who can shoot anyone is scared because of a dream.

Naina: Not dream but bad dream and you are wrong.

Arjun: About what?

Naina: About me shooting people.

Arjun: But you did shoot me.

Naina: I'm really sorry for that Arjun. And I shot you because I thought you're a danger to Sahil's life. When we love and care for anyone and they are in danger, we even do things which we don't like in general. And most important thing I didn't shoot to take someone's life, but I did shoot to save someone's life.

Saying this she closed her eyes, but her talk made the incident alive in his mind when Riya had shot someone to save his life. She never liked shooting people. Infact, she hated it, but she did that to save his life. She really used to care for him, but he never acknowledged that when she was alive. 

Arjun sat there for sometimes and when was convinced that she was fast asleep, he went to his study room and closed his eyes.

_______________________________________________________________________________Next morning when Naina woke up, she found Arjun in the kitchen making breakfast for both of them. The tasty smell of the food drew her towards kitchen. Feeling someone's presence behind, Arjun turned back and found Naina there.
