Chapter 8: Arriving in Vacuo

You and Weiss are in Vacuo, seeing everyone walking along the streets.

"Things seem different the last time I was here."

Weiss: "Well, things have been changing ever since the Second Great War. Especially since me and the others decided to transport all the people of Atlas and Mantle to Vacuo. It was a massive amount of change for those from Atlas since they've effectively lost everything in one day. They learned a very hard lesson, but I think it'd taught them to be better than before. I think."

"No offense Weiss, but like I said before, I'm one of the people who believe that Arlas had this coming."

Weiss: "Yeah, when I returned to Atlas after Beacon fell, I began to see how apathetic most were. Especially how my father refused to change for the better. But I'll stop there about the whole Atlas thing."

"Yeah. Let's live for what's ahead of us. So, is your family really at the edge of Vacuo?"

Weiss: "Yep. They should be expecting us. I know my mom is interested in meeting you."

"I know you and I are just visiting for a bit, but this feels pretty awkward."

Weiss: "Tell me about it. It's gonna be nice to see them again after so long."

"So, what are they like?"

Weiss: "It's... very complicated, but to sum it up, ever since my father came into power, he warped everything we stood for. Mom ended up turning to the bottle, Winter joined the military to escape, and my brother Whitley became favored by my father since he did everything he was told. I wonder if I would have turned out like father if I hadn't gone to Beacon."

"Learn from your mistakes, get better, and make sure not to repeat them."

Weiss: "Yep. I learned that a long time ago. Still nice to hear it though."

"Can't wait to see your family."

Weiss: "Me too."
