Their breakup felt long overdue. She grew to learn that he was not the kind of person who she wanted around her anymore. But she couldn't tell her friends. Everyone saw them as the "power couple". She would only be encouraged to try and try again with her, no matter how much it hurt them. They were together for just ten months. It's not much, but it felt like a lot to them at their age. She felt there was no way out.
They saw the sign to end it.
The phrase "let's break up" felt too harsh, even though that was the only choice left. Perhaps this was the reason why you shouldn't jump into a relationship. They barely knew each other, it was just mere attraction between the two. He was the reason why she was so exhausted. It was difficult to tell whether or not he would change. She had watched enough shows to hear that people never change, but was that true? Probably. It wouldn't be so common if it wasn't.
They saw the sign to end it.
They couldn't even last three days without arguing. There was always some issue with something. No matter what she said or did, there was no way to make up anything to him. There couldn't be one day in which she was not in the wrong for something.
They saw the sign to end it.
I don't want to deal with this behavior anymore. I shouldn't.
As much as she wished for it, they couldn't turn back time. Not that much would change anyway. It was the price they had to pay for being foolish in what was called love. Breaking up had its consequences too. She would be portrayed as however he wanted. Only she would know what actually happened between them. The mistakes made along the way emphasized their flaws and impurities.
For they were too ignorant to understand each other, conflicts were resolved with tears.
They saw the sign to end it.
If only they hadn't ignored the signs. Maybe things wouldn't sound so badly now. They had to end things.
They owed each other at least that much.
