"May the warrior grant her courage and protect her in these perilous times. May the smith grant her strength that she might bear this heavy burden. And may the Crone, she that knows the fate of all men, show her the path that she must walk and guide her through the dark places that lie ahead. In the light of the Seven, I now proclaim Helaena of the House Targaryen, Second of her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Mother of Dragons, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm." The High Septon said as he placed the crown on her head, "Long may she Reign!"
"Long may she Reign!"
The crowded Throne Room broke out in cheers, louder than anyone could comprehend. Cersei didn't look as pleased as everyone else though, that was for sure.
Once the Ceramony was done with, everyone got to chatting. Helaena sat on her Throne and could feel her heart beat louder than anything. Then the small council walked up the steps, "Your Grace." Alys was first, she wore a very proud smile on her lips, curtsied and left. Then Lord Varys.
"Your Grace."
"Lord Varys." Helaena wore a pleasant smile once she saw her dear friend.
"How have you been your Grace? By the looks of it, you're getting much better." Varys said.
Helaena refused to let her smile drop, "Aerys has been helping me a lot. The love you hold for your own child is stronger than anything else in this world."
"I'm glad to hear it. And I also hear you have an announcement to make from what my little Birds have been singing." Varys mused.
"Indeed I do."
Varys curtsied and moved on.
After that, it was the Lords in King's Landing that came to greet her, congratulate her and wish her good health and strength to reign as long as the Gods would allow her to.
Helaena zoned out during the whole thing, basically. It was just everyone repeating the same words. She simply greeted the Lords by their names and thanked them.
Her mind felt clouded with anxiety. She needed a plan to claim Dragonstone. She didn't have much time, soon Tyrion's trial would take place and much later she'd need to give Daenerys a home for when she returns to Westeros.
"Her Grace has an Announcement to make." Lord Tywin stated, gaining everyone's attention. The Hall was quiet, all eyes on the Silver Haired Queen.
Helaena stood, tall and confident. "Thank you, Lord Tywin."
"It has come to my attention and has been proven to me that many years ago, my brother Rhaegar Targaryen did not kidnap Lyanna Stark and rape her. It was quite the opposite actually, rather a cheeky love story." Helaena started, making eye contact with Daemon and then Prince Oberyn. "Rhaegar and Lyanna were in love. They even married in private because as you all may know, he was already a married man. His heart belonged somewhere else though. The day that Robert Baratheon rebelled against my father because he thought my brother kidnapped and raped Lyanna Stark was the day Rhaegar had found out his lover was pregnant with his babies. Rhaegar impulsively chose to hide and keep Lyanna safe in Dorne. It's the place she gave birth to two twin brothers, and it's also when she sadly passed away. So here I stand before you, to announce that one of those twins is right here in the Throne Room with us."
"Who is it?" The crowd asked, curious and shocked.
"Daemon Targaryen." Helaena spoke.
Daemon came forth, kneeling down before his Queen and everyone else.
"As Targaryen Tradition goes, I will be wed to Daemon at an appropriate time, after everyone's mourned King Joffrey's death." Helaena said, which caused the crowd of people to come to an uproar of cheers.
