there was once a bright bud
surrounded by flowers
some withering, some weeds,
and some pretty flowerstho the bright bud was the only bud
that glowed on its own
and that lit up the place around it
and that brought a warmth to those who saw itthe bright bud was covered by
its shiny growing petals
so it could not see its surrounding
but hear the flowers around them"she is so bright"
"I want to be bright like her"
"if only my daughter was as bright as her"
"she is gleaming"the little bud smiled at their compliments
but little did she know that they weren't
they were remarks of envy
that would destroy her latera farmer stumbled upon the garden
that was illuminated by the bright bud
he was surprised to see such a bud
that he started to care for all the flowers in the garden***
the farmer had to move to a different home
so he packed up some of the pretty flowers
and he didn't take the bright bud with him
because he thought it would survive on its own
like it had always donethe bright bud woke up one day
and everything was quiet
and it was time for her to bloom
and when she did-she was surrounded by darkness
all alone
not a single flower around her
they had either left her or gone with the farmershe was sad
she felt abandoned
her brightness started fading
till she was as dark as the night above her...***
I hope another farmer
with a truly caring heart
enters the garden
and saves the bright little flower
before it withers away with the darknessI hope this bright flower
is brightened again
and never surrounded by
lonely, scary, gloomy darkness
ever again
