The atmosphere in the grand hall was thick with tension, everyone frozen in place, eyes fixed on Tharn's father. He stood imposingly before Type, evaluating the young man who dared to stand firm in the face of such pressure.

"Type," Tharn's father began, his voice echoing in the stillness. "Are you truly determined to be Tharn's butler? To serve the heir of the White property?"

Type swallowed hard, fear evident in his eyes, but determination burned brightly within them. "Yes, sir," he replied, his voice steady despite the trembling in his limbs. "I am determined to serve Tharn, no matter what it takes."

The onlookers, including Tharn, were taken aback by Type's resolute answer. This was a moment where many butlers before him had crumbled under pressure. Even Tharn's parents, known for their stern demeanor, showed signs of surprise.

The White property, also known as the Undying Richness, was a legendary estate. It was said to hold a fortune so vast that it guaranteed prosperity for generations to come. The estate was vast, filled with treasures and lands that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was an inheritance that was inevitable and immensely significant within the Kirigun lineage. Every heir of the Kirigun family was destined to inherit this wealth and the responsibility that came with it. It symbolized power, prestige, and a legacy that could not be broken.

Tharn's father nodded thoughtfully, then motioned to the royal guards. "Prepare the Fate cards."

The guards stepped forward, holding out a deck of cards, each one a different color. Tharn's father picked two cards: one red and one blue. He presented them to Type. "Choose one."

Tharn's heart pounded in his chest. He knew the implications of this choice. "Please," he muttered under his breath, "not the red card."

In a moment that seemed to stretch on forever, Type reached out and picked the red card. Tharn nearly collapsed, his knees giving way as tears streamed down his face. The entire room tensed, the air thick with fear. Lhong's face twisted into a satisfied grin.

Tharn's father spoke again, his voice a low rumble. "Now, Type, you must solve this riddle. No butler in the century-long history of the Kirigun civilization has ever answered it correctly."

He paused, allowing the gravity of his words to sink in. "The riddle is this: 'I am the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space, the beginning of every end, and the end of every place. What am I?'"

Tharn screamed, desperation in his voice, "No, Type! Just leave me! It's too dangerous!"

Type, seemingly deaf to Tharn's pleas, remained focused. He took a deep breath, pondering the ancient riddle. The seconds dragged on, the weight of the room's anticipation pressing down on him.

Tharn's father added, "Consider this carefully, Type. Many have tried and failed to answer this correctly. If you are wrong, the consequences are severe."

Type thought deeply, the words of the riddle echoing in his mind. The beginning of eternity, the end of time and space... He replayed the words over and over, searching for the hidden meaning. The tension in the room was palpable, every eye fixed on him, waiting for his response.

Finally, Type spoke, his voice clear and calm. "The answer is the letter 'E'."

Tharn's father narrowed his eyes. "Have you truly thought through your answer?"
