The next day, as Type was diligently organizing his tasks, Tharn left for a brief meeting with the Kirigun family about white property. This left only the mansion staff, the chef, and Type, the butler. While Type was busy with his work, Lhong approached him, a surprising change in his demeanor.
"Type," Lhong said, his tone unusually friendly, "I need you to do something for me."
Type raised an eyebrow, suspicious of Lhong's sudden kindness. "Yes, sir? What is it that you need?"
Lhong smiled, a gesture that seemed out of place on his usually serious face. "I need you to go down to the wine cellar and retrieve the oldest bottle of red wine we have. Also, there are some old documents in the storage room that I need you to bring up to the library."
Type nodded, though his mind was racing. Why is Lhong being so nice? And why the sudden interest in the wine cellar and old documents? he thought. Still, he maintained his respectful posture. "Of course, sir. I'll get right on it."
As Type made his way to the wine cellar, he couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling. Something isn't right. Why would Lhong suddenly change his attitude? And those documents... he pondered. Despite his reservations, he continued with his tasks, determined to maintain his professionalism.
He retrieved the bottle of wine, noting its dusty label and age. Moving to the storage room, he sifted through the piles of old papers and books, finally locating the documents Lhong had mentioned. They looked ancient and worn, raising more questions in Type's mind. What could Lhong want with these? he wondered.
Returning to the main part of the mansion, Type handed over the items to Lhong with a polite nod. "Here you go, sir. Is there anything else you need?"
Lhong's smile widened. "No, that's all for now. Thank you, Type. You've been very helpful."
Type nodded again, masking his suspicion with a calm exterior. "You're welcome, sir."
As he walked away, his mind churned with thoughts. I need to keep an eye on Lhong. Something about this doesn't add up.
As Type continued with his tasks, he couldn't contain his curiosity any longer. He approached Lhong, determined to get answers.
"Sir, I need to ask you something," Type said, his voice serious. "During Thanya's debut, Leo and Fiat mentioned that you were the one who ordered them to steal the necklace to frame me. Is that true?"
Lhong laughed, a mocking sound that grated on Type's nerves. "I never knew Tharn's butler could be so amusing. Why would you believe two thieves over me? They're nothing but pieces of trash."
