"Hey dumbass, are you even listening?!"

Bakugou's voice cut into Courtney's racing thoughts like a knife. She whipped around to where she had left her phone on the nightstand, completely forgetting that he was still on call. It was now nearing 7:30am, and she realized her outburst may have woken him up.

"K-Kacchan?" She ran to pick up her phone, and held it up to her ear. He had yelled loud enough for her to hear him clearly without the speakerphone. "Sorry, did I wake you?"

"No," he snapped, still irritated. "I was waking up when I heard you yell. Who's Noah?"

Courtney tensed at hearing her brother's name, and when she continued not to say anything, Bakugou continued. "He your boyfriend or something?"

"N-no, it's nothing like that," she shook her head despite him being unable to see it. "He's... um..."

"Spit it out." Bakugou grumbled, shuffling in the background.

"It's a long story," she decided to say. She could practically hear him rolling his eyes. "Can you meet me at my dorm?"

"Already on my way." He told her, and hung up.

Courtney then discarded her phone to get ready for the school day, and rushed downstairs to meet Bakugou. The sun was out when she walked outside, and the wind rushing through the air rustled the leaves in the trees that surrounded the dorms. Looking at the world now that she knew her brother may be out there somewhere felt so differently. It gave her the smallest twinge of hope, and it made everything look a little brighter.

"Hey," Bakugou called out to her as he approached from the path that connected their two dorms. He had a grouchy look on his face, and his spiky hair swayed in the wind. "What's with that misty-eyed look?"

He walked straight up to her, standing close enough to where Courtney had to angle her head backwards to meet his eye. His brow was risen as his gaze flicked around her face. He was concerned, but masked it with annoyance. She was beginning to see right through him.

"I had another dream," she told him. "I was trying hard not to fall asleep, but before I knew it..."

"What happened?" Bakugou asked immediately, pulling her away from the front door of the dorm building so no prying ears could eavesdrop.

"I think..." she still couldn't wrap her head around it. "No, I know. I have a brother."

"What?" Bakugou's shock was evident. "That's Noah?"

"Yes," she nodded and took in a deep breath. "He was at that place with me. We were in two cells, but there was a little window so I could see his face. I remember him so clearly now, I can't understand how I forgot him in the first place."

"You were traumatized," Bakugou spoke as if the reasoning was simple. "You can't pick and choose what you block out. Do you know what happened to him after you burnt the place down?"

"N-no..." her voice cracked upon the mention of what may have happened to her brother, and she quickly looked down as she held back tears. "I just... left him behind. I don't know if he's alive or dead, even after all he did for me... I..."

"Hey," Bakugou palmed her shoulder, and she squeezed her eyes shut. "Don't do that to yourself. You were a little kid, what were you supposed to do?"

"I could have saved him," she justified, clenching her fists as she fought her urge to cry. "I could have done something instead of running like a coward."

"For all you know, he got himself out because you gave him the opportunity to," Bakugou was adamant that she did nothing wrong. "The point is, you don't know what happened to him, so why be sad about it now?"
