Harry Potter:
It was a crisp autumn day at Hogwarts, and the Great Hall was alive with the usual buzz of conversation as students enjoyed their meals. The enchanted ceiling mirrored the clear blue sky outside, and the warm light of the candles made everything feel cozy and inviting.
Ron Weasley, seated with Harry Potter and their other friends at the Gryffindor table, couldn't help but notice how Harry's gaze lingered a bit too long whenever Seamus Finnigan and you, Ron's twin sister, were involved in the conversation. You had been spending more time with Seamus lately, and while Ron was happy to see you having fun, he could sense Harry's unease.
"What's wrong with Harry today?" Ron whispered, nudging you with his elbow. "He's been oddly quiet."
You glanced over at Harry, who was staring intently at his plate. His usual bright eyes were dimmed with a mix of emotions you couldn't quite place.
"Oh, I don't know," you said with a shrug. "Seamus and I have been studying together for Charms. It's nothing serious."
Ron raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. As the day wore on, you sat next to Seamus in the standard room, working on a particularly tricky Charms assignment. The fire crackled warmly in the hearth, casting dancing shadows on the walls.
"It looks like someone's in a good mood," Seamus said, grinning as he looked up from his parchment. Do you have any plans for the weekend?"
Before you could respond, Harry sauntered over his face, a mix of determination and something else you couldn't quite decipher.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" Harry asked, his voice tinged with an awkward edge.
You glanced at Seamus, who gave you an encouraging nod before packing his things. As he left, Harry sat down next to you, his eyes searching yours with a mixture of nerves and something unspoken.
"What's up, Harry?" you asked, trying to keep the conversation light.
"I've been meaning to ask you something," Harry started, rubbing the back of his neck. It's about Seamus."
You felt a pang of worry. "What about him?"
Harry took a deep breath, his gaze steadying as he looked at you. "I've noticed you've been spending much time with him. I just... wanted to know if you were interested in him. In a way, that's more than just friends."
You blinked, taken aback by the sudden shift in conversation. Your heart raced as you processed his words. The truth was, you had been spending time with Seamus because he was fun to be around, but Harry's jealousy had caught you by surprise.
"Harry, Seamus, and I are just friends," you said softly, trying to reassure him. "There's nothing more to it."
Harry's face flushed slightly, and he looked down, clearly embarrassed. "Oh. Right. I guess I just... I was worried, you know?"
You reached out and gently touched his arm. "Harry, you don't have to worry about Seamus. I'm here with you, and I care about you."
Harry's eyes met yours, and the tension seemed to dissipate momentarily. "I'm sorry if I was being weird. I just... didn't want to lose you."
A warm smile spread across your face as you took his hand. "You won't. We're friends, and that means a lot to me."
As the evening continued, you and Harry returned to the standard room together, the air between you lighter and more comfortable. Harry's initial jealousy had become a more profound understanding, and you felt a renewed connection with him.
