Star Wars Ahsoka: Shadow of the Sith

Part One: The New Sith Lord

After Sabine fought Shin Hati within the forest of Seatos, she made her way to the reflex point where she saw her master, Ahsoka Tano, fight Baylan Skoll. She saw Shin knocked out on the ground, and eyed the map. She took the opportunity to snatch it from the ground.

Sabine held the map in her hand, looking down at it. She held the very thing that would reunite her with her long lost friend, Ezra Bridger. Sabine looked up and saw Baylan push Ahsoka back onto the edge of the platform. She pointed her pistol at Baylan.

"Stop!" Sabine shouted, to which got both Baylan and Ahsoka's attention. Ahsoka eyed on her apprentice, and saw she was holding the map. "Sabine... Destroy it!" Ahsoka shouted. Sabine pointed her pistol at the map. "Step away from her!" Sabine demanded.

Baylan looked back at Ahsoka, who had fear in her eyes, he knew this was the only way as he slashed at Ahsoka's blade, which caused her to fall off the edge into the cold water below. "No!" Sabine shouted with shock at the loss of her master.

Baylan looked down at the ocean below, feeling a slight feel of regret wash over him, but he knew that is was the only way. He turned back towards Sabine, who shot several blaster shots at Baylan, who blocked them with his orange blade, before she pointed her pistol back at the orb.

Baylan halted, putting his blade down as Sabine stared at him with serious intentions of shooting the map, to which he spoke. "You should do as you're master says... Destroy it." Baylan said in a calm tone. "She would have done it." Baylan said as he stepped forward.

"Stay back!" Sabine demanded. "But your not like her though, are you?" Baylan asked. "More then you know." Sabine said. The two sat in silence until Baylen closed his eyes, entering Sabine's mind and see everything, her thoughts, feelings, and her intentions.

He saw what she was feeling, he saw the death and destruction of her homeworld of Mandalore. He saw her family's death and the deaths of many of her fellow Mandalorians. He sees Bo-Katan Kryze giving the Darksaber to Moff Gideon, to which he betrayed her and ordered his troops to kill them all.

Baylan reopened his eyes, deactivating his lightsaber and placing it on his belt before he took a few steps forward. "I know you feel that Ezra Bridger is the only family you have left." Baylan said. Sabine's eyes go wide, slightly shaking her head in refusal.

"You don't know what you're talking about." Sabine said, denying his claim. "I know that's what's holding you back." Baylan said, continuing to approach. "You're family died on Mandalore... Because your master wouldn't trust you..." Baylan says as he continues to approach.

Sabine looked down at the map, knowing she needed to find Ezra and bring him home. "Sabine." Baylan said, which causes Sabine to look up at the mercenary. "You and I... Share a common goal... To make this journey." Baylan said as he slowly approached her.

Sabine continued to stare at him as he slowly approached her. "You, to be reunited with your long lost friend, and I, to serve a greater good." Baylan said. Sabine looked down for a second before looking back up at him. "Come with me. Willingly. I give you my word. No harm will come to you." Baylan said.

Sabine looked back down for a few moments until Baylan spoke again. "Sabine." Baylan said which causes Sabine to look back up at him. "You will be reunited with your friend." Baylan said as he extended his hand out. "It's the only way." Baylan said as Sabine looked down at his hand.

"Do it... For Ezra." Baylan said. Sabine looked down at the map. She knew if she handed him the map, Thrawn will return to the galaxy, start another war, and take his place as Heir to the Empire. But on the other hand, the loss of her family hit her hard.

Her entire family and her homeworld were all lost. She felt that Ezra was the only family she had left. He was more than just her partner and best friend, he was her other half, her soulmate, she needed him to continue, that's why she agreed to help Ahsoka.
