Part Two: The Shadow

Ahsoka Tano and Professor Huyang were riding within the mouth of one of the Purrgils. Ahsoka stayed silent, thinking about her apprentice, and what Thrawn could be doing to her. She sighed and she shook her head, Huyang turned his head.

"I can tell your disappointed." Huyang said. Ahsoka turned her head to the old droid. "I'm not disappointed, I'm just... Worried." Ahsoka said. "About Sabine." Huyang added. Ahsoka looked at him, to which he continues. "You are the one who brought her on this journey, to help ease her pain." Huyang said.

Ahsoka sat in her seat in silence, Huyang wasn't wrong after all. The reason she took Sabine on this journey is to help her ease her grife and pain about Ezra. She knows how much Ezra meant to her, she's been mourning his sacrifice for ten years, and the New Republic putting him as dead status wasn't helping her.

She knew that if she took Sabine on this journey to find Ezra, maybe she'll feel better. But things weren't going accordingly as Sabine gave the map to Baylan, it wasn't out of choice or greed, it was out of doing it to please herself so she can be with the one she loved.

Ahsoka had seen this before with Anakin and his wife, Padmé Amidala. She was devastated to hear that Padmé died, and was more hurt to see her former master turned friend and mentor become the most terrifying man in the galaxy, she could have recognized him as Vader once he said 'Revenge is not the Jedi way'.

She sighed, she wishes Anakin was here to help her. The two of that sat in silence until they heard the Purrgils moaning in pain. "What's happening?" Ahsoka asked. Huyang checked the scanners. "There seems to be a field in the way, but what's making the Purrgils cry?" Huyang asked.

They got the thrusters started as the Purrgil they were in opened it's mouth, revealing they were in a mind field that was set up by Thrawn. They get the T-6 to start up and exited the Purrgil's mouth. "Huyang!" Ahsoka shouted as she started clicking buttons.

"We're in a mine field! They knew we were coming!" Huyang said. "Yeah! I see that!" Ahsoka said. They managed to maneuver through the field as the Purrgils then jumped away, but most of them didn't make it. Ahsoka and Huyang managed to escape the field as they approached Peridia.

Meanwhile in Peridea, Thrawn and his allies watched through the hologram of the planet and the graveyard. "She's here at last." Thrawn said. Morgan smiled. "I shall deploy our ships to intercept them." Morgan suggested. Thrawn turned his head to face Morgan.

"And send our new asset to chase them through, it's time to test out the new Tie Defender prototypes." Thrawn said. Morgan bowed her head and deployed her ships to deal with Ahsoka. The ships deployed from the Eye of Sion and targeted the T-6.

"Enemy fighters! Closing in!" Huyang said. "I see them!" Ahsoka said as the ships begun firing on them. They managed to dodge the ships from hitting them. As the fighters chased the T-6, Ahsoka managed to get the ship into the debrie field to try and lose them.

The scanners lost them, making it impossible to spot them. "Grand Admiral, they are off our scopes." Enoch said. Thrawn smiled and turned his head to him. "Then it's time to test our new prototype. Inform Bridger we are ready for him." Thrawn ordered.

Enoch bowed his head and left to get Ezra to the Tie Defender. As Enoch left, Baylan approached Thrawn. "Ahsoka Tano will survive this encounter. An old friend of mine told me how many times she escaped danger like this." Baylan said. Thrawn turned his to face him.

"She might as well, Lord Baylan. But the Tie Defender is not to be underestimated." Thrawn said. "Before this exile, I had the Emperor's approval to have this project ready, but Pryce ruined it. Director Krennic's Project Stardust was a weakness, and it costed him his life." Thrawn said.
