Marbled Spice Cake
Ingredients: Serves 8 to 10
6 tbsp butter, softened 1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
A few drops of vanilla extract
7/8 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp molasses
1 tsp. Ground ginger
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar sifted
To decorate
This cake can be stored for up to two days
In an airtight container
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 F
Grease and flour a 2 lb. Kungluph mold or ring-shaped cake pan
Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy, beat in egg and vanilla extract.
▴ Sift together the flour and baking powder, then fold into the mixture, alternating with the

Spoon the mixture into a small bowl. And stir molasses and spices.
▴ Drop alternating spoonfuls of the light and dark mixtures into the tin.
Run a knife or skewer through them to give a marbled effect.
▴ Bake in the center of the oven for about 50 minutes until a skewer inserted into the center
Comes out clean. Leave in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.
▴ To Decorate, stir enough warm water onto the confectioner's sugar to make a smooth icing. Spoon quickly over the cake. Allow to set before serving.
Tip:
You can also use a round cake pan.

Later at supper time:
DeeAnn and Al looked across the table into each other's faces. Both looked exhausted today. She decided to have Amish pizza delivered to their farm. From " Pizza House."
It tasted delicious, and she even used paper plates. Drinking ice-cold root beer.
Amish Root Beer Recipe:
I found my bottles at the dollar tree. And they have a locked top, so fitting for me I'd thought at the time. I also made flavored kombucha. I love fermenting.
Recipe:
1-gallon warm water
1 1/4 cups sugar
4 tablespoons root beer extract
1 tablespoon yeast
Instructions :
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a gallon jug. Seal the jug at set on the sun for 3 hours or more. Refrigerate overnight.
 
Baby and Beatrice ate heartedly, faces needed to be cleaned. One more hour of play and they'd be getting washed up for bed. DeeAnn tried to make a special bonding time. Al helped dress them after bath time over with. And brush hair too.
     Then time to read Brattice Potter books. Rabbits who took on human roles to live. Sometimes facing obstacles always ends with God helping out. Their room is attached to the girls and the door is left open at night. For peace and harmony while dreaming.
     A large screened-in porch led off their bedroom. Where DeeAnn and Al sat tonight rocking in rockers. The house was all locked up for the night. A coziness called home settled in. As the nighttime animal noises settled in. Cows bellowed Owls hooted, a shunned. The singing cats are down for the. Night asleep in the hay mound. Our dog Wally lay asleep at Dee Anne's feet. She petted him using her toes. A soft fur like no other than Wally.
     Al stood, and yawned "I'm tired DeeAnn, time for bed nite."
     " Nite Al." She felt happy to think this was our home. Purchased and paid for by us. We had our children here, birthday parties, and holidays spent together. Then growing into a mature age are now.
       Wally stood laying his head on her knees as she stroked his nose and jawline. They had watchdogs also living outside. By the name of Horatio, Simon.
