Before We Start - My Opinion

I know I have made a few posts already that aren't part of the story, I also know that most people don't usually read these. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read this!!!!!!!

Everyone has their own opinion, not everyone agrees with you or your opinion and that is something you will have to deal with everywhere you go in life, no matter how old you get or how much research you do before you argue.

The show Shameless does a good job of getting under people's skin, and people can't help but to share their opinions. I understand that you want to explain your thoughts and beliefs on topics, please do! I want to know how others are affected by certain scenes or characters.

HOWEVER, do not argue in the comments. You can have friendly disagreements where both of you realize that you have different opinions and you can agree to disagree. PLEASE do not threaten or shame anyone for their own thoughts, beliefs, or opinions. We're all entitled to our own, there's a reason we have free will and the ability to think for ourselves.

If you're old enough to read about drugs and sex, you're old enough to know when to stop arguing. The mature tag will be put on this story, and it is encouraged to be 18+, however I was reading wattpad before I turned 18, so I understand it.

I will not tolerate hate, or unnecessary arguing in the comments. If you start an argument or partake in one, I will reply to the comments with a warning. If the warning is not taken seriously, and you continue to be unreasonable, you will be BLOCKED and REPORTED. Never have I had to block or report anyone on Wattpad or AO3, but I will if it means keeping my comments drama free.

Now on to my opinion about the show and certain characters.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTORS! I know there could be drama with certain actors/actresses, I don't care. This is about the characters of a show. It is my OPINION, which I am allowed to share freely. If you don't agree, that's okay because you are also entitled to your own opinion.

This is the biggest one that most people will hate me for, but that's fine.

I hate Fiona's character.

Do I feel bad that she had to grow up so fast, and that she had to raise her siblings at such a young age? Absolutely. But do I think that's an excuse for everything? No.

She uses the excuse of being a Gallagher for everything, she doesn't take responsibility for any of her shitty accidents. Whether or not it was an accident or not, it's still her fault.

Liam getting into the coke was her fault 100%, I don't care if she meant for it to happen or not. Did she ask Robbie to come over? No. Was it her fault he left the coke? No.

However, it is "her household" and she "is the guardian that has been running the place since before Liam was born." She likes to make all these claims about how she's the one in charge and that everyone should come to her before they make a decision because she put her life on hold for them. I agree she put her life on hold, but if she wants to claim the main caretaker, she needs to follow through with her words.

As the adult in the situation, she should have flushed that coke straight down the toilet, no questions asked. I get that she's young and still wants to party, but if you are claiming to be the adult, act like one. She could have put Debbie, Carl, and Liam to bed and then went next door to Kev and V's to party.

Instead she put all three kids in danger by leaving coke unattended on a kitchen counter. A child that is seeing the person they love and look up to, snorting a powder that is obviously making her happy and enjoying herself. Obviously they will be curious about it, there's a reason you put baby locks on cabinets and doors, and why cleaning supplies should be placed in a higher cabinet.
