I, personally, never imagine the original character(s) as whoever the face claim is. Most stories have face claims, whether they use images and gifs, or just a list of all actors/models they're using.
However, when I read I always create a random person in my head. I have an amazing imagination according to my mom, who doesn't even see images in her mind. I'm still not quite sure how that works, as I can create an entire movie in my mind and see all the visuals clearly.
When a writer says their character is a red-headed female, with curly hair and freckles, people see it differently. Some see Sadie Sink, some see a random model on Pinterest, I see a woman that I've created in my mind. Some people imagine themselves, and that's okay as long as it doesn't affect the story.
The point of this is that no matter who I choose as a face claim, there will be people who aren't happy with it, or want to change it. I've used face claims in the past, for the sake of those who use them, however I will not for this story.
I don't like choosing one face for someone I've created because as I write I see the person I created, doing the things I'm writing for them to do. Picking an A-list celeb as a face for everyone else to use just ruins the image I have in my head and it affects my writing and my characters.
You can imagine whoever you would like, celeb or not. I am okay with people putting who they're imaging in the comments, I like to see how others perceive my characters. However, I just ask for you to be happy and accepting of the fact that I will not be choosing that person for you.
