"What's it going to look like mom?" Rosa asked me about her schools dance decorations for the fiftieth time and I just rolled my eyes.

"It is going to look nice, I promise." I said getting my belongings together to head out to Rosa's school to join the parent decoration committee and our continuation of the dance decor.

"I know that, but what is going to be inside. I need details mom."

I chuckled, "You are going to find out when you step inside just like all the other kids."

"Can I at least get a hint?" Rosa begged and all I could do was smile.

"You will love it." I stated grabbing my keys and heading out the door. "Roman I'm gone!" I called out to my husband who was busy watching a football, soccer, game in the living room.

"Bye my love!" Roman called out and I smiled.

Ever since that day in the parking lot with Dalton I have not seen nor heard from him, and that was about a month ago. I guess he must have taken the hint.

I stepped into my vehicle and cruised out of our driveway and onto the street. I sighed deeply and began my journey; I know I am probably going to be spending another night at school.

------------

I entered Ms. Dunn's classroom and took my usual seat waiting for the committees elected leader, Claire Lamont, to dish out the assignments for the nights work.

I sat patiently and waited for Karen to arrive. Over the past month I have grown a certain disliking for Mrs. Lamont. She was of a wealthy background that married even wealthier but rumor has it that her and her husbands wells of old money have dried up, but that was just a rumor I am pretty sure was started by Karen.

Mrs. Lamont and Karen were the same age of thirty-five but Claire seemed to still have the antics of a sixteen year old girl. Everything she did was out of spite or jealousy, no one could out shine her in any task nor could anyone propose an idea that was better than her own. She was the epitome of a high school bitch in a thirty five year olds body.

I peeked at the door but Karen had still yet to arrive. Worried I dig into my purse to find my phone and contact her, only to see that I have four unread messages from Karen:

6:45pm Hey, girl I am going to be running a little l8

6:58pm I might not b coming. I'm not feeling up for the wicked witch of the west and her bitchiness

7:08pm I know now for certain that I will be officially late and I have decided not to come

7:10pm if opportunity is to arise please trip Claire.

I chuckled at Karen's last message and put my phone away, I guess it is just me today. The clock hit 7:15 and of course right on time Claire stood to begin the meeting.

"Okay everyone, thank you for joining us. It seems that we have a few missing faces but I guess everyone can't handle the workload. Oh well, they weren't important!" Claire spoke and I groaned inwardly.

"So, today we are going to be-"

The door to Ms. Dunn's room came flying open and a young woman stepped in with apologies written all over her face, "Sorry, had to drop my kid off back home from soccer practice." The woman said to Claire whose expression was clearly not amused.

"Mmmkay, go ahead and take a seat."

The woman scurried to the seat next to me and I smiled up at her as she sat down.

"I hope this seat isn't taken." She spoke and I turned my attention away from Claire who had started up again on her demands list.

"No worries, as long as your not Claire I could care less." I commented and the woman erupted with laughter that drew attention to our small table.
