"This is the best part, wait." Lydia said as she plugged up the flower to show Ava. "It's so pretty! And it fits perfectly on my desk. It's just- ugh, the best gift I've ever gotten." She said as she sat down next to Ava on the bed, staring at the gift in awe. She looked over at Ava to see her expression and...it wasn't the happiest. "What?"
"It's just. He got you a flower..." Ava said.
"Yeah, but it's fake. He knows I'm allergic it was like the first thing I told him about myself." Lydia responded as she got up and turned off the flower lights.
"But don't you think he's like taunting you. Like to me this says 'I know you're allergic to them so I'm gonna get you a fake one to rub it in your face.' You know?"
"Well-"
"And before you say he knew it was your favorite movie, that would mean he snooped around your room cause you said you never told him you liked tangled."
"But-"
"And who gets a gift with glass when you have to fly somewhere. You probably had a ton of anxiety that it would break on the flight back." Ava says and Lydia goes silent. She was kinda nervous about it breaking, even though Blake said he'd just buy her another if it did.
"I guess you're kinda right..." She mumbled feeling kinda bad about showing her the gift and feeling excited about it. "Didn't you, uhm, didn't you wanna show me something?" Lydia asked after a few moments of silence.
"Oh, yeah! Remember that dress you were eyeing the other day." Ava asked with a grin on her face.
"Yeah." Lydia said becoming excited again, thinking she had gotten it for her for her birthday since she hadn't spent anytime with Ava since the trip.
"Well, I got it." Ava said taking off her sweatshirt, revealing she was wearing it.
"For yourself?" Lydia asked confused.
"Yeah! I mean, trust me when I say this, I did you a favor. They only had it in like three colors and none of them would look good on you. Plus, it's too tight fitting for you, like I feel like it would reveal too much for you. I just don't think you'd be comfortable in it." Ava said and Lydia nodded. It was a sun dress. Closed back. Down to the knees. And spaghetti straps. THAT SHIT WAS NOT TOO REVEALING.
...but Lydia agreed with her. "I get what you're saying."
"But, since I didn't get you anything for your birthday yet. I got you this." Ava said handing her a box, more specifically a shoe box.
Lydia opened them to see the pair of heels. They were platform heels. "Oh, I love them." Lydia lied through her teeth. She hated platform heels, she didn't like heels in general, especially tall ones. She didn't have the best balance so it didn't make it any easier to walk in them. "How'd you know my size?"
"Remember that time i borrowed your shoes, turns out were the same size!"
"You borrowed my shoes?" Lydia asked, she never remembered Ava asking to borrow a pair.
"Yeah, when we went out for a girls night and I borrowed those really cute dark blue ones."
"Oh yeah..." Those were Lydia's favorite pair. She had to throw them out when she found them tarnished beyond repair.
"Well, happy late birthday!"
"Thank you."

Lydia was over at Schlatt's house. She would sometimes go over and hang out while he edited or made a video just to be around someone. She liked his company, even if they didn't talk.
Schlatt was editing his most recent video as she sat on his bed, scrolling on her phone. He noticed she was oddly quiet when she walked in. Usually she'd talk while he was editing and he'd listen to her even if he wasn't contributing much. But she was dead silent today. "Alright, I'm not doing silence while I edit." He said standing up and walking over to the bed, laying next to her.
"What?" She asked confused as she set her phone down.
"Usually you'd talk my ear off to where I'd have to tell you to slow down. Why are you not doing that?"
"So, I made a friend. But, like, I don't know if she's the nicest person." Lydia sighed.
"Explain."
"For my birthday Blake got me this fake flower, more specifically the flower from tangled and it lights up and it's so pretty. I showed it to Ava, my friend, when she came over and she was like, 'it feels like he's taunting you with your allergy to flowers.' Then she wanted to show me something. She told me she knew I'd been eying a dress, and she bought it...for herself. She said it was because it wasn't my style and they didn't have my color."
"That's not-"
"I'm not done yet." Lydia said as she stood up and began to pace. Schlatt sat up on the bed realizing it was serious. "Then she says she did buy me something for my birthday. Quick side track: thank you for your gift to me, loved the laptop case and hoodie you got me, much appreciated. Anyway, she gets this box out and it's a shoe box. She got me platform heels, you know I hate platform heels. I have horrible balance as is and they were tall. I asked her how she knew my size and she tells me that we're the same size because she's borrowed my shoes before. She borrowed my favorite shoes and destroyed them to where I had to throw them out!"
"Stop being friends with her." Schlatt said simply.
"I tried! I tried ghosting her, lying and saying I had plans, or just telling her I didn't want to hang out. She still shows up! She's like a leech." Lydia groaned before she got a notification on her phone. "And she does shit like this to make up for the comments about me or the shit she does." She said showing Schlatt the phone.
