Taehyung's POV:

"You're alive. That's enough," I said vibrating internally as my heart jumped up in a thrill. Jennie was looking at me, finally, but maybe I could never get her to look at me in the way I wanted her to.

"Well, it was really nice to meet you. By the way, I'm Jennie..."

"Jungkook's girlfriend. Yeah, he told me," I replied before I could hear those words slip out of her lips.

I yearned so badly that somehow I could be her boyfriend but Jungkook deserved to be hers too and that dropped my confidence down.
When she looked at me, it hurted and healed me at the same time. She gave band-aids to my heart by the fact of knowing that she couldn't be mine but she also gave sparks shining in my eyes. She was the definition of love and pain.

I really wanted to tell her how I fell for her by just one single look at her but that sounds pretty insane. I'll make her fall for me in such a way that she would forget about Jungkook. Only if it were possible...

Jungkook was a menace when it came to competition. He was the best of friends but when he was in his mode of contesting with someone, he knew every single thing except how to lose. He was a perfectionist and I could scrutinize that in his meticulous work ethic. He was the most determined person I knew and stealing the girl he loves like hell would be like a mission impossible but I'm too helpless that I couldn't stand here without trying. I would try to make her love me...

"Thanks, Taehyung," Jennie said as she looked down breaking our momentous eye contact.
"Yeah," I smiled sheepishly.
"Okay, well, I'm in a huge hurry to go somewhere...so how about I repay you another day?" Jennie said fervently.
"No need to repay me...but can I walk with you till where you're going to prevent any more mishaps or accidents," I said almost fumbling over my words feeling so topsy-turvy.
"You want to accompany me? Ummm...I'm just going to Jungkook's place at the left. It's okay, thanks," she said sincerely bowing down.
"Still. Can I?" I said.
"Okay...Sure," she said sweetly as she smiled at me. She looked so gorgeous that it kind of made me envious of Jungkook that he got to be greeted with that adorable grin everyday.

"So Taehyung, I've heard a lot about you. You seem to be really close to Jungkook," she said as I watched her eyes spangled with gold.
"Yeah, we've been the best of friends since kindergarten and we also train together at HYBE," I said.
"I see, I train right in front of the HYBE building..." she said walking towards the confectionery shop.
"Yeah, I've seen you dance through the window at night in the YG building," I said reminiscing her mind-boggling stellar dance practice I had seen through the window.

"You've seen me dance?" she said with her cheeks flushing into a rosy pink, "oh, that's really embarrassing since I'm awful at it."

"Awful?! You were so amazing that I was swayed by your aura. You literally were on fire! You dance like a supple, nimble model and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!" I exclaimed in the horror of knowing her opinion about her dancing skills.

She was a connoisseur of dancing with the power to enchant me from afar. How could someone so infallible and graceful think this way? She needed assurance immediately...

"Wow! I had no idea you liked it," she said flabbergasted as we both entered into the confectionery store. The confectionery store was a paradise of chocolate adorned with millions of bars of chocolate and caramel stacked upon each other like carcasses. The scent of sweetness almost cloyed me but I stared at Jennie picking up a little red box tied up with a polished ribbon and she hopped towards the counter.

"I would like to buy this, please!" she said to the shopkeeper.
"It's 20,000 won," the shopkeeper whispered heavily.
"Okie dokie," she said as she put her hand in the purse and her smile waned into alarm.
