*MARIA'S P.O.V*

The busy hum of the airport surround us as i and Sulu aunty stand near the entrance to the departure area. I'm dressed casually with a backpack slung over one shoulder, I'm both excited and a bit anxious.

We are standing close, exchanging last-minute advice and affectionate words. Sulu gently held my arm and tuck a stray strand of hair behind my ear, offering comforting gestures. There's a moment of shared silence, filled with unspoken emotions-happiness for my upcoming adventure and a tinge of sadness at the impending separation.

As the boarding call echoes through the terminal, we shared a tight hug, holding on a bit longer than usual. The aunt's eyes glisten with unshed tears, while i smiled, a mix of nerves and excitement in my expression. We exchanged few more words-Sulu reminding me to stay safe, call often, or simply expressing her love and pride.

With a final wave, i turned towards the security checkpoint, glancing back with a hopeful smile. She is watching me go, standing still for a moment, her heart full. As i disappeared into the crowd.

Sulu aunty came to drop me as papa had an urgent meeting to attend but he definitely made sure to give me lecture on Do's and Don'ts in Delhi and list goes like:-

1. Dress up like a decent student and not like a goon.
2. Avoid fights, if you had to, use your brain more than hands and legs
3. Make sure to make new friends.
4.Even if you meet your Uncle's family try not to be seen so much with them outside.
5. If you need anything or get yourself in trouble Mr.Ashutosh,The Dean will help you out,he knows everything
6. Never reveal your identity to anyone there, until I introduce you myself officially in public and media.
7. You can comeback anytime, if you don't feel like being there.
8. And don't think you fooled me, i know it was your's and your Grandpa's planning. (Busted)

"I should come with you to make sure you are safe there" Sulu stated concern visible in her tone.

"But my visit there can cause chaos in Gangs. All eyes will be on us and all the hiding game will get ruined in instance." She sound sad.

"It's okay, I'll manage. Don't you believe in me?" She passed me her warm smile on that "Offcourse, I do believe in you. It's just my concern getting best of me".

Sulu is my guardian.she was my mother's bodyguard as well when she was the gang leader, she was known for her sharp skills, stoic demeanor, and unwavering loyalty. She was always by mother's side, protecting her and ensuring her safety in the dangerous world they inhabited.

After mumma's marriage she moved in Banglore with my mother but after her death, she took my responsibility in her own hands and told my father that she will take care of me. Her transition from a hardened bodyguard to a protective and nurturing figure must be both challenging and transformative. She is determined to shield me from the dark underworld she once navigated and to give me chance at a better life.

Her appearance still reflects her past life-athletic build, tattoos, and a no-nonsense attitude-but her interactions with me always reveals her tender and caring side. She is fiercely protective, often watching over me with a vigilant eye. At the same time, she struggles with the softer aspects of parenting, finding herself in unfamiliar territory as she learned to balance discipline with affection. She is the one who trained me how to fight, use guns, etc. as safety protocols if someday I needed it.

My father trust her as much as my mother used to, she is like a family member to him and like a mother figure to me though I have always called her Sulu because she liked it like this. Those brats i punished, remember Mr.Singhania and Journalist, She would have killed them and no one would ever find out how they died if she was there but lucky them she was in Delhi for some important meet up. So...I decided to atleast give them a lesson.

Excitement filled as soon i arrived in the capital of India, the city's vibrant energy immediately engulfed me. The streets are a whirlwind of activity, with honking cars, bustling crowds, and colorful markets. The air is thick with a mix of aromas-street food, spices, and the scent of monsoon rain on warm pavement. I took a cab and headed to my University.

The university campus is sprawling and vibrant, a mix of modern buildings and lush green spaces, bustling with students. After a long journey, i made my way to the hostel office, dragging my suitcase behind me. The hostel, a large building with multiple floors, stands at the edge of the campus, offering a mix of comfort and practicality. It's an older structure but well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere. The hostel warden greeted me warmly, handing over my room key and a small welcome packet containing campus maps, important contact numbers, and details about the facilities.

My room is on the third floor, accessible by a narrow staircase as well as Elevater. As i opened the door,I am greeted by a simple, functional space: a single bed, a desk, a wardrobe, and a small bookshelf. The room is sparsely decorated, with plain walls and a large window that lets in plenty of natural light,it has it's own washroom. Outside, i can see the campus grounds and a glimpse of the bustling city beyond. It's not as fancy and big as my room back in home but this will do I guess, as it was my decision to come here. I'm thankful that i don't have to share room with someone otherwise that could definitely be a problem for me.

I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of relief and anticipation. Setting my suitcase aside, i begin unpacking, placing my clothes in the wardrobe and arranging my books and personal items on the desk and shelves.

After I was done unpacking, I'm feeling a mixture of exhaustion and excitement. The day has been a whirlwind of new experiences, but I'm thrilled to be here, ready to embrace the opportunities that studying at this university will bring. I took shower and found my way straight down on my bed, reflecting on the day and looking forward to the adventures ahead, both academic and personal. The hostel, with its friendly community and supportive environment, feels like a promising home for the next few months.

*Next morning*

"Zzzzzzzzzzz" ringing continued as i snuggled my blanket wrapped over me, i stirred as ringing continued and then stopped, only to start ringing again a few minutes later. This time breaking through my sleep.

Groggily, i reached out a hand, fumbling for the phone. My eyes barely open, i squinted at the screen, trying to make out the caller ID ,With a sleepy sigh, i swiped to answer and bringing the phone to my ear.

Hello?" I mumbled, my voice thick with sleep and a little raspy. There was a brief pause on the other end before a voice speaks, the urgency in the person's tone catching me off guard.

"Are you serious? You are here and you didn't even bother to inform me.... I don't care meet me in 10 minutes at the gate of your hostel or never show me your face ever again."

I sit up slightly, rubbing my eyes and trying to shake off the sleepiness " yeah...good morning to you too" I replied sarcastically.

"Go to hell with your good morning and meet me in 10" and the call disconnected with the sentence filled with sweetness.

I sighed at thinking what awaits me, I went straight to the washroom did my morning routine, I put on very little makeup with jet black winged eyeliner. I'm dressed in Letterman jacket, plane white top underneath it, paired with light blue ripped jeans and white sneakers. I took my bag and headed to the gate to meet my childhood and one and only friend "Shreya" who happened to be my cousin as well.
