Chapter 22

"Clay : Hey, by the way, can I call you Alena ? I mean, I think your real name suits you really well. Actually I don't really understand why you don't like it.

To call me by my 'real name' ? Leni is just a nickname but, that request kind of surprises me.

Me : Sure, do as you want, it doesn't bother me.
Clay : Cool, Alena.

He smiles.

Clay : Oh, maybe it's time to eat nope ? What are you doing this afternoon ?
Me : I have training. With my crew. But it's only at 2 pm.
Clay : Again ? You work really hard, right ?
Me : Oh yesterday wasn't really a training, we just "had fun" with Shade.
Clay : Shade.. You're friend's crew ? What's his name already.. Ash ?
Me : Yeah, Ash.
Clay : Like I said earlier, it's soon time to eat. Wanna have lunch with me ? I finish in.. 10 minutes.
Me : Alright ! I trust you for the restaurant.
Clay : Count on me."

10 minutes later

"Clay : Hey, I'm ready. Let's go ?
Me : Let's go !"

We walk until a cute little creperie. And sit in a corner. A few minutes later, we order, the waiters being really nice. We eat well, discuss well, laugh a lot. And he ends up paying for us two :

"Me : That's how you use the money you earned ??
Clay (laughing) : Don't worryyyy, money isn't a problem.
Me : If you say so, I'm not gonna complain
Clay : You mustn't, Alena.
Me : Still, thank you for inviting me.
Clay : You didn't eat a lot, you're not gonna ruin my bank account about food, that's for sure.

Depends on the day Clay, depends on the day. You shouldn't talk without knowing me.

Me : It's better that way right ?
Clay : I hope you didn't retain yourself because of me ?
Me (guffawing) : What ? Of course not, what type of girl do you think I am !
Clay : We never know, I just didn't want you to that.
Me : Anyway. I've gotta go to my training.

Me : See you, Clay."

Training.

Nobody looks happy to be here today. Me neither. No Shade member to disturb us from our real goal which is : having an amazing performance as perfect as possible. Ryu isn't late. We still work with discipline, without joy.

Two days later (school)

RAHHHH FUCKING RINGTONE OF MY BAAAALLLSSSS- PULL IT BACK THE SIREEEEEEEN HAHAAAAA.

Up.

School doors.

Sit in my class.

Alone. Mao decided to sit next to someone else....?

I- okay ? We don't need to be glued all the time, that's right.

1 hour later

Hum, maybe.. She's waiting for me to say hello ? She always does it kinda in first. What should I do. Oh, she turns her head towards me, I vaguely wave at her but quickly notice thaaat.. she's never gonna respond to this wave.

We argued about different things these past months. But I guess that broke our fragile friendship. Now I'm scared to see what will say Mara and Suki..

Lunch time

I can't eat with them, Mao, who seems to be ghosting me, is with them too.. Being alone isn't a problem for me, it already happened. I guess I'll have to get used to it again.

They're really not gonna talk to me. None of them. Maybe it seems like it was but,even for me, my friendship with Mara and Suki wasn't really deep, it was always just everything in surface.

Fortunately, I always bring my headphones with me. If you're alone, having headphones on removes 10 points of awkwardness. And limits the number of persons coming to speak with you.

Mh, I'm not hungry at all now. Time to throw away all of my plate again. Yeah, I already ate by myself this year, while being supposed to have friends, I guess I was just blind about the fact that they didn't really see me as I was ? Yeah, that's the best and only explanation.

"Isa : She left you too ?
Me : wdym ? Mao ??
Isa : yeah
Me : waittt you're already not friends anymore ??
Isa : Mao didn't tell you ?? we were in a relationship for like five days, but I decided to quit it because i found out that my feelings for Mao weren't really.. Love.

WAIT WHAAAT ?? MAO DIDN'T TELL ME SHE WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP ?? HOW THE FUCK DID IT HAPPEN ? AND AFTER THAT, ISA BREAKS UP ?? BUT.. ISA MUST HURT HER, DAMN. MAYBE THAT'S WHY MAO LOOKS DEPRESSED..? No, we must face the facts, when I saw her with others today, she didn't look depressed, it was just when we had eyes-contact or stuff related to me.

Me : WTFFF I MISSED AT LEAST TEN EPISODES IN THE SHOW ??!!! HOW TF- anyway, doesn't seem like my business anymore, indeed, Mao looks  like she is not gonna talk to me anymore. maybe it's just that she's waiting for me to come to her but it never has been the case soooo. but wait, why do you say she left you when you're the one who broke up with her ?
Isa : Well I tried to do that gently ! ..

Me : Are you surprised ? I mean, you obviously hurt her, while breaking up, so quickly by the way, I know her a little bit to say that when she loves someone, it's notttt bullshit. ANYWAY. I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT THAT.
Isa : maybe you're right. you don't have any other friends except her ?
Me : Only two girls, not really close tho, and they're with Mao lol.
Isa : AH-
Me : Yeah, kind of 'AH-' yeah. but I enjoy being by myself more than people think. Just gotta have my headphones, or it sucks.
Isa : i understand.
